Google doesn’t appear to know either. Stumped by that
Probably one of those stupid ITK knows nothing rumours on a fishing expedition. I thought it may have been a youth player but appears he doesn’t exist

Miles ahead, we were still trialling players about a week before kick off and had one striker signed up in Mark Cullen who was injured for the entire pre season, Tyler Burey aside because he was ridiculous at this level there was only Neill Byrne who had any regular game time all season, the rest were shite.
Got a bit of feedback from a Dunfermline fan I know, rates Euan Murray, star man for Kilmarnock as they won the league. 'Sena' didnt impress him, Tumilty decent attacking full back and Hastie is a good player but went all prima donna when he was at Motherwell, forced through a move to Rangers which was too early for him.

He understands the Scots game is shite but he reckons most of them could step up.

We will see. I'd rather this than last summer's signing shitshow

Thanks for the info, Agree with the signing shitshow last season.

After listening to Hartley he comes across as knowing the english game
And more importently knowing the players he,s signed.

How do we know Crawley aren't going to make another 4-5 signings of a similar ilk?
We are according to our owners on Friday evenings Twitter Spaces broadcast for those who wanted to listen - it’s at least another 3 - and sooner rather than later - and before you start moaning about paying them the owners have already put the next two years budget into the bank. That cash not Crypto’s or NFT. They are certainly backing the club with intention of move forward - time will tell but they are here for the foreseeable future.

With the greatest of respect that sounds like bollocks. Budgets change year on year dependent on circumstances. A league 1 budget is going to be vastly different to league 2. We have heard the same promises before. Seems like a disaster waiting to happen and not sustainable in the slightest. What's in it for the owners? You don't get big crowds and probably never will...they've got to have a reason. Hope it goes well for you but I'd be massively wary. Alarm bells going off all over the place.

They tried to buy us first and other than both being in league 2 both clubs couldn’t be more different in terms of size, fan base, history and geographical location. This says to me they didn’t come with a plan other than to buy a club in the bottom tier of the football league on the cheap, I’d guess to try sell on asap if they can get a few promotions and make a name for themselves in sport along the way. If it’s a success it wouldn’t surprise me if they sold and started the whole process again with another club, if it isn’t they’ll probably disappear and leave Crawley to pick up the pieces. I get that most owners now aren’t exactly locals with the best interests of the club at heart(ours included), but these seem like good time Charlie’s tbh more than shrewd business men. Our owner is crap but he’s not reckless, his co-owner was which is why we’re in this league but thankfully he got rid there is nobody to get shut of these if it starts to go wrong.

They seem a bit strange as well, a City fan tweeted the other day how they’d like to see Telford here this was before Crawley were ever mentioned and we were never mentioned it was just a general comment. A few hours after signing one of the Wagmi quoted his post along the lines of he won’t be coming to yous. The poster had never mentioned Crawley so he must have been either searching for posts to do with Telford of Bradford City, either way it was a typical Twitter virgin type response and not one of a successful smart businessman.

It’ll be a ride either way, but my money would be on Crawley in non league not to be seen in the EFL again within 5 years.

Seems to be signing players with a similar mindset to his.
Hard working,front foot, aggressive players.
Murray saying he wants to win at all cost & will do anything to get a win is great to hear.
We've been a soft touch too many times in recent seasons
Agree about the soft touch, Sena has a definite win mentality also, think he is going to go down a storm.
Fergie was on radio tees yesterday, Nowt but positives after talking to the new gaffer.

Feels like a match made in heaven - we know how those end.

Fits the Hartlepools feel of last century - definitely to be admired and encouraged.

I will admit to be wary of the future plans and have doubts as to why they brought Crawley (Bradford or Port Vale I can see reasons) as we are such a small club. Having said that, for all their frat speak and talk about 'soccer jerseys' they are smart people and have backgrounds in data analytics and sports betting so I presume they must have seen a method to make some wanda out of the deal. I am just hoping that doesn't lead to the club going tits up. They have stated on numerous occasions that their funding method does not rely on fans in the stadium.

If you fancy a read https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/...on-owners-wagmi-united-premier-league-1706147

Some of what is said in that article gives me cause for concern, some gives me cause for hope. As with all new owners the proof will be how well we are doing in five years.

It’s easy to write off Crawleys owners because it’s unconventional but it’d be naive to do so imo. We’re one of the few clubs about that have genuine fans of the club running it with decent cash behind them, so I’d certainly not swap with Crawley (or anyone else for that matter) but I’m certainly not writing them off.

George Ray has confirmed he’s leaving us, despite still having a year left to run on his contract. It’s an odd one as he was pretty much an ever present in the first half of the season and he played mostly very well. He then got covid and never reclaimed his place once Stubbs and Diabate got in the XI.

I think he failed to impress at Orient on loan but I expect he’ll end up at a L2 club this summer.

noticed that yesterday and mentioned it on our forum as he's from the North West. One of our players follows him on twitter which is probably something and nothing....

Thought they were incredibly unprofessional when they wanted to buy us. Taking to Twitter and announcing they were buying us before they'd even put an offer in. My favourite was when they did a Twitter space and fans asked if they had any intention of buying the ground, only to be met with "Huh". Great. Didn't even know about the ground situation. Glad we told 'em to get stuffed.

I wouldn’t trust any owners with a discord server, I use discord servers to play counter strike not run a football club.

I’d be surprised if we are seriously in for him.

We burned our bridges with Newcastle a couple of years ago when they took a pap because we wouldn’t play one of their really shit loan players. Word was they said we’ll never get a loan player from them again.

Also our manager has said he’s happy with our midfield and attack and priority now is defenders.

Failed to impress is an understatement. Absolute gash. Particularly hopeless with the ball at his feet, which is terminal in a side like ours. Might DAJ for Sutton or one of the other hoofers I suppose.

Interesting that Carlisle are not doing open trials this year.

It has previously been the most embarrassing part of preseason for us, aside from the time we had to go part time for a few months during COVID,

I guess things are starting to look a tad more professional at the club under Simmo.

Really hope we don't go back in for him. Every season he was a regular we were in a relegation battle at some point. And I think that equated to six seasons. I wouldn't trust him to lead our very young defence.

Luckily we've been speaking to 2 or 3 alternatives but can only sign 1 as the manager is hell bent on getting an attacking midfielder in with most of the budget. I'd rather bring in two experienced defenders myself as its been a weak spot for far too long but we'll soon see what occurs.

Is he a centre back?
Quick check reveals he is! so it wont be us as we have 4 CB's and 3 more who can fill in there, at 37 my guess is he is a flynn type of signing so would say walsall.

Heard rumours Anthony Glennon has agreed terms with us, I’d be delighted if true.
Some players just fit really good at some clubs and he was great for us last time.

I can imagine if you’re trying to play out from the back, then Ray isn’t your man at all. He has definite limitations for sure, but he still did well for us. That said, I didn’t see him doing too well in L1 and Sam Stubbs is far superior, so he’d barely play in which case tearing up his contract is the best move for all parties.

He’ll be a solid signing for a team that need an experienced CB who can be dominant in the air.

Strange one that, I was expecting him to go to a higher league club as a 'one for the future' because of his age, especially considering that he wasn't the most consistent CB in our team last season?
It'll be interesting to see him when he's not playing alongside JG.

Doubt it mate already signed 11 players mostly defenders and midfielders no way we need anymore.
