I'm not saying the club wouldn't allow him to leave. It's not what the fans think he's worth it's the club's valuation of him and I'm sure it's in excess of 500 grand and rightly so. At the end of the day Wimbledon will do what's right for the club. He still has 2 year's left on his contract and is probably our biggest earner so he's hardly being treated unfairly. In fact I'd say moving to Bristol Rovers is no more than a sideways step but that's his choice I guess
Sideways step -- You are joking ?

One of those players (see also Derek Riordan, Leigh Griffiths) that scores loads of goals at Hibernian but then seems to turn into an absolute dickhead. (possibly fuelled by extra curricular substances - allegedly)
We had Derek Riordan for a short time and that was long enough. Absolute pony

If by sideways you mean 'West' then you are right. Anything else you are wrong though

Well the last time Bristol Rovers were in the championship was the 92/93 season so he's hardly likely to get beyond playing in league 1 signing for you is he !?

They probably have the potential to get into the championship. However if you've not been above league 1 for 30 year's then surely that is there level.. Any team could get to the premier League if they chucked enough money at it.

He’s off to Charlton, I think.
Ex Garner signing at the gas. He seems to be just signing the better players that have been brought in for him at Gas and Swindon. Saying that Charlton have a fair few that play a similar role so he might just get stuck on the bench

I just dont think he wants to play in L2. If he did he may have signed for us last summer but we couldn't compete with location and a higher level.
Bottom line that he signed a 3 year deal, so should be professional until an offer comes in that the club accepts.

I totally agree with you. To be honest I don't know what his character is like. It's all just social media talk. If Wimbledon get an acceptable offer they won't stand in his way. I understand that he probably doesn't want to play league 2 football. What annoys Wimbledon supporter's a bit is the fact that he wasn't an outstanding player for us last season. He was decent but nothing special. . If he had played well for us last season I'd be a bit more understanding towards him.. It sums football up really though. There is no loyalty.

All gone quiet on the central midfield front for us. The Moncur splash aside, the window has been very under-the-radar as a whole. We’ll see if the needle has been moved sufficiently because, whilst we can boast five or six of the best players in the division (Vigouroux, Beckles, James, Moncur, Smyth and perhaps Archibald) the squad is very light on numbers.

I think a lot of clubs in this division are still on the shopping list for strikers. At this time I suspect a lot are being priced out of the market but as we approach the time that the window SLAMS shut clubs and players are going to have to lower their demands. It's almost a case of who blinks first. I suspect 'marquee' striker moves are going to happen in a few weeks or so, for quite a few clubs.

Quite a few managers (Clough included) mentioned how tough the market is this summer, particularly a lack of free agents.

Mansfield could do with somebody who you expect to hit double figures, not necessarily a 20+ although it be nice!

I think your very much correct here, we're still in the market for another having flogged one two days ago, the window is open until September 1st and knowing our tight arse in charge he'll want to save a month's wages and wait until then to finally squeak a cheap one over the line.

I've absolutely nothing to back this up, but it does seem that clubs are taking a chance with non-league/lower league players to get value. We've brought in Saidou Khan from Chesterfield, and Tome Adeloye from Ayr United and I know Hartlepool brought in the fella from Wealdstone and I'm sure there are countless others I've missed but it does seem that clubs are looking to squeeze value from non-league during this cost of living crisis.

Not sure it's financial or just clubs realising that it makes more sense to sign up players who have impressed enough to step up a level, rather than players dropping down from a higher level because they can't cut it.

We've signed Waters, Whitfield, Warren and Nwabuokei from non-league for our starting line-up. Much better than shite like that Dion Donohue from you guys who was just looking for a pay day.

Donohue solicitor fees are probably quite high to be fair.

A few years ago I was pleased we picked up Terry Hawkridge and Luke Waterfall. Waterfall is now their captain, Hawkridge was a decent winger (Cover for Woolford maybe?) There are bargains to be found.

Then you have odd signings like Andy Dales who clearly couldn’t cut it.

Our Chairmans Motto is "value for money" apart from when it suits the club (cashless stadium)
He has said it numerous times in interviews.
I don,t like the way fans are getting rinsed ( 2£ extra for a tck on match days ) is just mean
Or could be just me, And its acceptable these days.

Anyway its not for me.
