With Carver tipping us for promotion and HG tipping us for relegation I guess I have to tip us to finally win the coveted mid-table trophy.

Keep your grubby mitts off!

I'm hoping we can reach those giddy heights.

That's what you all said about John Welsh and he was a complete and utter disaster for us.
Haha that’s just what I was thinking, I thought at the time that that calibrate of signing would have us in the play offs at least.

Haha yeah I must have read the phrase "absolute warrior" about ten times from PNE fans. "Will slide tackle his own nan" too, just a shame he decided to go around doing that at bus stops and not on the footy pitch. Disgrace of a human being. When a player is in the running for most disappointing Grimsby signing of the last 20 years or so then you know they were completely and utterly gash.

For anybody toying with the idea of taking that lovable rogue Carver seriously, here is a previous snippet of his pearls of wisdom:

So what, we can still win this league with our reserve team and I even believe our youth team is good enough to still get us promoted if they have to be called upon too.

You just have to have more faith in all the clubs players, not just the senior team.

We were top of the league at the time and everything just felt right, then Covid happened.

But yeah to think our youth team would get us up probably was a bit over the top I'll admit.

It looks like we've signed Connor Malley. An attacking midfield player, yes please. He was one of the many Trialists we had in preseason and impressed. I think he set up all 4 of our goals at Scunny.

We had him on loan a couple of seasons ago but he only played three times before being injured

You can thank me for this insight with three points when we meet.

We were apparently in talks a couple of weeks ago, but signed Kaine Felix instead when he became available. Did well in Gateshead's promotion side last year.

Wes Mcdonald coming in from Morecombe.
Another attacking midfielder/winger who doesn't score goals.

Any good in that short burst?
Looks to have done well at Gateshead last season but that's 2 leagues below.

not really, he played a grand total of three minutes in the league for us, and a couple of times in the FL Trophy, played 91 minutes in total maybe not much to judge him on but nobody saw anything in that time to believe we should maybe give him more time

Looks like we're signing Idris El Mizouni on loan from Ipswich, central midfielder. Not sure how long the loan is, but likely to be a season or half season.

We’ve tied Jon Guthrie down to a 3 year deal. Turned down ‘significant’ bids this summer and he was out of contract next.

Big fan of the stability Brady and Calderwood have brought

We've sold Reece Staunton to BPA for an 'undisclosed fee'. Don't think he was ever gonna get a look in here so probably the correct decision.

Strange move for Reece. He turned down a loan move to a Scottish Championship side in preference to the permanent move across the city to Avenue.

Maybe he has a 'proper' job lined up locally and playing for Avenue on part time basis?

We’ve signed Hakeeb Adelakun on a season long loan from Lincoln.
