Tranmere have signed a new striker today, which some of their fans seem to think means Andy Cook is on his way out, with us having made an offer.

No idea if he's any good, great scoring record in non-league tho

We're supposed to be signing Huddersfield midfielder Regan Booty on loan.

Imagine the headlines...

Cowleys make Booty call. Tie youngster down for 6 months.

Would fully endorse this - with three proven but ageing league strikers in Shola, Stead and Forte we can take a bit of a risk with someone like Cook as the fourth, albeit ideally would like someone a bit younger maybe.

Not sure how much Tranmere would want, but with Noble seemingly not happening we've got a bit to play with.

Supposedly signing goalkeeper Will Norris from Cambridge, any good?
I know I may go against the grain of what most Cambridge fans think but I'm not overly keen on him, he's not commanding enough for me and his distribution is often not good, decent shot stopper on his day though.

If we get a decent fee then I'd be happy.

He came through our youth system but was no where near good enough to break into our first team, although we were in League 1 at the time, maybe he would have had we been at this level. From what I remember of him, he was a bit of a lard arse at 18 years old, quite slow and not very mobile. Dropping into non league was the best thing for him, he's obviously learnt how to utilise his size and has a decent scoring record. Whether he'll be able to step up to League 2 I don't know.

Sometimes I feel like us and Notts County are the same club.

Cheers, I think he would be back up to John Ruddy, another one of your ex goalkeepers who also signed today, but imagine he'd play in the cup games. Surprised we haven't kept Harry Burgoyne as our number 2, but our new management seem intent on bringing in a whole new squad.

I agree with Arbury to some extent but the lad's still young so he can only improve with age and it will be a great loss to us should we lose him. Granted he's not commanding enough and his kicking's not the best but his shot stopping's excellent and that's the first thing I look for in a keeper. But apparently not everyone sees it my way as loads of U's used to defend one of the worst professional keepers I've ever had the misfortune to watch - Sam HAHAHA Beasant. Just thinking about his ineptitude at shot stopping still makes me angry.

But I digress. I don't want to lose Willy for two things. One is because he's good, and secondly because I don't want Derry to have his excuses ready when he inevitably fucks up again, not that I want him to of course, but it's not what I want that matters.

I really like him, could be a big loss to us if he left in my opinion. You already have like 6 keepers on your books though, I know one of them is already on loan and Ikeme has sadly got Leukaemia but even so that's a big amount. I'd say 2 or 3 is the perfect amount.

Whether he's better than any of your current lot of keepers I'm not sure. Perhaps we'll get him or another one of your keepers back on loan.

We've finally announced the loan signing of Jordan Maguire-Drew from Brighton.

He scored 15 goals from the wing for Dag & Red last season and he's only 19. Not bad.

Look after him please! A very good move on the face of it, hope to see him make a decent impact in the FL now after showing very promising signs last season. He's got all the tools/talent to make it at a pretty high level from what I've seen.

I always liked him here for his work ethic as he never stops running but he was always way too greedy and a definite confidence player, towards the end of his time here his confidence was shot as he was only being played sporadically so when he did get a chance he never took it.
Seems like he's much improved since then though so good luck to him if he does get a crack in League 2 I hope he makes it.

Yeah, Norris's kicking is dreadful but I think he's good otherwise and disagree with him not being commanding as I think he is. And he's a good shot stopper as stated already.

After signing Ruddy I'm not really sure why we're after another goalkeeper either, we have a promising number 2 in Harry Burgoyne, and our 3rd choice keeper we have loaned to Cheltenham. Of course with Ikeme hopefully coming back within a year depending on treatment, I'm not sure why we need another GK.

Linganzi to Swindon

There's been a fair few good signings so far, don't think any of ours stand out.

Pleased with JMD. Had a terrific season at Daggers last year and adds some balance as well (I think we only had Habergham and Knott, who only joined in January, as left footers last season).

Thoughts Leewilson John Still

Norris fee rumoured to be 500k.

I'd hope we'd get a sell on fee and a loan back for the season and they'd I'd be happy.

Kicking is dodgy but still learning and has the pedigree to be a Prem keeper one day.

Best signings by L2 clubs so far?

Not really followed much of what others have been doing but I think McNulty at Coventry will be a very good signing, Likewise Collins at Luton. For us based on our first friendly I think Paul Digby will be a very important player for us this season.

JMD scored 3 of the Daggers top 6 goals of the season too. He will be a huge asset I am sure, for me probably our best pre season signing.

Norris fee rumoured to be 500k.

Snap their hand off for £500k surely? That'd be a great fee for a promising but not exactly top of the range League Two goalkeeper.
