We don't use Ticketmaster though - it's an outfit called SecuTix. The problem seems to be our debenture tickets, where you pay a fee for 10 years for a specific guaranteed seat if you choose to take it up for each game. Looks like the system can't cope with those seats not being used, so they never end up on general sale even if they're not actually sold to debenture holders - and that's where the couple of thousand shortfall comes in. That's only guesswork though because the silence from the club over this and why season tickets haven't been sent is deafening. We were told that the problem there was with the fulfilment house but two weeks later we've heard nothing and the tickets still haven't arrived. It's a shitstorm of our own making and we clearly haven't got the right people employed to run things on this scale - and they're certainly not prepared to take public ownership of the problems, communicate what they are and sort them out. I'd be amazed if they're still in their jobs this time next year. As for why Oxford only have 1,000 tickets - absolutely no idea. I'm not sure it's even possible to segregate that end where there are 1,400 seats.

I'm assuming you've never been to the DW before. It's not like Gresty Road where you can just open and/or share stands wily nilly depending on the opposition's support. It doesn't matter who are you are here, you get one stand with your 5k and that's your lot.

So why then can't you just open/share stands depending on the oppostions support?
That ground holds 25K - more than enough room to accommodate every single home or away fan who fancied going. Why not extend the away section into a few blocks of one of the sides or even just give one whole side to the away team which I think they've done in the past? Losing a lot of extra revenue there .

I’m good friends with Wimbledon’s Chairman so I asked him why he only allocated Oxford 1000 tickets and his response was ‘just to piss off that eric read guy from 1FF who’s obsessed with away support figures’.

He also said that whenever they are next in the same division as Bradford City he will do the same to them to get a similar meltdown from F-I-R-T-H-Y.

Couldn't they give away fans the side stand like they used to? Is that stand much bigger?

I remember when I went in 2003 I was on the side and not behind a goal.

It's the most populated and popular home stand now, would piss our fans off hugely having to move from there. Plus, no one is ever going to fill an 7.5-8k capacity stand for a league game in the EFL, a 5k stand is more than big enough. The only time we ever give away fans the side stand now is if we're playing United/Liverpool/Everton in a pre season friendly.

EFL rules state that home club's only have to give away teams 10% of the available capacity..Therefore Wimbledon's capacity is 9,300 so Oxford have nothing to complain about in receiving 1000 tickets.

It is the different treatment between clubs that is the problem. It makes no sense when clubs are desperate for money to turn down 400 people's worth of income, therefore £000s.

Whatever the reason, I think the 400 fans who can't attend deserve an explanation from whoever made the decision. Once again, some of our fans have had to buy home tickets (I know this as fact, before the Pompey troll pops up) so, if it's a security decision, it isn't a very good one.

If every team got 1,000 tickets, no problem, but it's the apparent inconsistency that rankles.

Looks like gates are improving in this competition which although obviously good for the financial side of things really isn't good for football in general.
This competition needs to die a quick death in its present guise and I thought most fans understood that so a little surprising to see so many actually bothering to attend away games in this competition.

There was only a couple of hundred ‘official’ away supporters, probably also a few other ones that had never seen there team play before mixed in within the home ends. Generally though no matter what the competition, the support has has held up well these last five years or so since we would have done well to get 3500 for a league game.

Anyway, back to why you can’t scare up 7000 home fans in your 3 league games so far. Especially after a season with no fans.

Look at Axis M&E in the UK. It was liquidated with over £13m of debts and only £14,000 of assets! That doesn't sound too clever to me.

So, you've had about 1,000 fans more than us so far at your three games, after several years of Lee Power and the big "getting your club back" lift, and kids for a quid and other ticket deals, well done. Let's see how things pan out when a few more games have been played, as I suspect the situation will change quite a bit.

Nearer 2000. Our average is 8750. Yours is under 7000.

We’ve shifted coming up to 5000 STs - which is difficult to quantify after years of zero information from Power - but is pretty good I’d say. There’s no ticket deals - prices are the same ridiculously high price for basement football as last season.

So, again, why are your attendances poor? You’ve had a couple of ‘bridesmaid’ seasons, started this one OK and still can’t get 7000.
