Awaiting official number for today but was sold out, Cheltenham away Wednesday at the 3rd attempt and Oxford both sold out.

Remaining 5 aways including the two above all below 2k allocation, our average will end around 2,450, Derby can't match that.

Our forum says 1,220 Owls out of a total of 3,837. (Total away stand capacity varies a bit between 1,200 and 1,224)

Our average was always likely to go up as the season ended as we had 3 big away ends left for the last 5 aways. Derby 3100 sold out Saturday, Barnsley we’d sold 2900 before the game was abandoned a week beforehand so that’ll be around 2500 at least even for midweek and Peterborouh which is 4K plus.

Other two are Cheltenham and Fleetwood which will also be sellouts.

No idea what our away average will end up as but it’s been a decent effort considering Ipswich is a bitch to travel from to pretty much everywhere.

It's pretty crazy, all of our next 4 are sold out now.

Derby - 3100+
Cheltenham - 1300 (??)
Peterborough - 3700ish?
Barnsley - 3100 - any returns seem to get snapped up straight away. Crazy for a Tuesday night game considering the distance.

You can have 5k at Barnsley so that's bollocks.

Less than 800 allocation for Lincoln, seems low, would have expected a good following there.

We have given FGR 1,055 tickets. I imagine it depends on whether they're down or not by then as to whether they'll sell them all. Either way, it'll probably be another win for them in 2023.

Initial allocation.

Nice that your away support have finally turned up after 30 odd years locked
even in the championship our away support was pretty decent. it has gone up since Evans left as owner though - same as our home support.

People protesting with their feet against that regime returning when new people are in charge is hardly a surprise.

Exactly and fans from the outside don’t appreciate how poorly run it was.

In my opinion, an easy way to bring in money for the club is a shirt sponsor. Who sponsored the shirts for the majority of that period of ownership…

Forget the money spent on players, the new owners appreciate how poor the stadium was falling, how bad the pitch is turning into, they know how to bring in new fans from the local area. They appreciate our history as a club and keep new fans to remember it

Define decent, it wasn't selling out 3k at ours decent, you've certainly picked up but not all walked away cos of Evans.

As Yeo says, you'll get up to around 2k if needed but they release the tickets in batches because the more tickets you sell, the closer to the home end you get and more stewards required.

822 initial allocation for Ipswich (A) on Apr 29.. Mixture of lower and upper tier, assume we'll get more if and when we sell out of them.

Fair enough, oddly saying that whilst I expect a good following this time I do recall going Lincoln Away in December on a cold Tuesday night and probably the only time ever I recall double digit away fans there, and one of them was my mate who was a Posh fan! If i recall we won 2-1 Dodds got one and Lincoln scored there goal with Lichaj launching a long throw that our keeper dropped in... if he'd just let it go in without touching it would have been ruled out of course!

With all due respect, a very large portion will have been. Albeit a slow decline from 24k to 16k over 12 years

Some would have been because of McCarthy’s later years. The year after he left (our relegation Year) our average home attendances went up 1500

I don't think people quite realise how bad the Evans ownership was. I know so many that stayed away until he left.

So basically you only turn up when things are hunky dory?

I vaguely remember that.

It was the same season we lost 4-0 at your place in the snow on a Tuesday night - one down after forty seconds (misplaced back pass from Ian Pearce (then player/assistant manager with Chris Sutton manager) that skidded off the surface), two down after three minutes and three down after fifteen!
