The opposite to this thread - Gareth Ainsworth recently signed a contract lasting 5.5 years at Wycombe.

Normally for us giving a manager a long contract means they turn into a complete and utter idiot.

For me someone like Martin Allen is exactly the type of manager Portsmouth currently need, in easier words someone who will just get them up by however means, problem is I think Martin Allen would be exactly the type of manager Portsmouth fans probably would not want.

Agree with the thoughts regarding Allen, has a proven knack of keeping clubs up, and Pompey are in free fall at the moment.
