As the calls for allowing fans into non-league pre-season matches intensify, now seems like a good time to add our voices by signing the online petition. It's encouraging to see that some politicians are starting to get onboard with this, so here's hoping that common sense will prevail, please copy and paste this on to your clubs forum and other social media platforms

The petition:

Thankfully, our average crowd is only just over 100 at Step 4, so we can largely go back to normal from the start under these guidelines. Will mainly just be less use of the cover at the ground, which will be pretty inconvenient when the weather turns for the worse (but better than nothing for sure).

Notts County potentially being limited to just 1200 in their big stadium is comical

Totally arbitrary and with no regard to COVID guidelines. Ludicrous.
Darlington moving back to the arena would be totally pointless if this is the route the national league have to take. These crowd limits should really be on ground capacity, not based on league rules.

I don't feel safe going to watch us, could see myself feeling so ill afterwards. Nothing to do with coronavirus though.

This is going to cause feckin chaos with our lot.
Playing at Radcliffe, Radcliffe can host twice as many fans as Bury on the same ground?
And I thought the EFL was not fit for purpose!!

Are potential attendances based on what step you’re at, rather than the capacity of the ground? Seems very odd if so

Apparently. Presumably it’s going to be different when they work out what to do higher up, but the idea of us being restricted to the same number as, say, Wealdstone is.. fairly baffling.

Just confirmed on our site, Radcliffe can have 600 in and Bury (potentially a MUCH bigger club) 300 on the same bloody ground!!

Wouldn't pay any notice. Elite sports will tackle this differently

There is zero chance this goes ahead in this league, absolute zero.

It's fine for these tinpotters to get by on gates of about 37 but there's no way Proper Clubs can be following the same rule. Think we budget for an average season crowd of about 3200.

They'll probably change it across the pyramid whereby it's as a % of the ground's capacity, rather than the arbitrary figure they've come to at this moment in time. Even at Steps 3, clubs such as FCUM, South Shields, Bromsgrove and Worthing would lose out if this was to be applied moving forward.

Without knowing definitively, we'd be alright if crowds were capped at 1,200 (our average for the season would be higher in normal circumstances) but for the BELTs, that would lead to financial ruin.

Edit: Having heard our budget for the year on Sunday, 1,200 at home games should definitely cover that.

I've just seen that Halifax will have a capacity limit of just a 1000......that seems awfully low considering how big their stadium is.

Isn’t that roughly what they get anyway?

Unfortunately there is starting to be an obvious second wave approaching us, as too many people tried too soon to go back to normality - thanks Rishi!

So i dont think that we will be seeing crowds certainly at step 1 and 2 for a while yet as more lockdowns approach
