Another turbulent week at the home of east London football in E10, the club are really not telling any fans what is going on. Yesterday Matt Porter was told to resign, which was our last link to the Hearn regime, though at when Bechetti took over he said Porter would remain at the club so the fans had someone to talk to if problems arose, last season I would see Porter at every game walking round the ground speaking to fans making it a family club. This season I have not seen him once, I feel our family club is being taken away from the fans. Apparently Bechetti has finally met the people who run the supporters bar and said it can still continue. But apart from that, no one knows anything, Slade was supposed to given time, then he had one game to save his job, then Cardiff wanted him and we rejected their offers and his resignation. Do the new owners know how to run a football club? Is Slade still our manager? Will Nugent follow him to Cardiff if Slade sorts out the compo between the clubs? Why have we offered the managers job to Nugent when we were linked with every manager out of a job at the moment?
All these questions and no answers from the owners! They promised at the start of the season another promotion bid season, but if nothing gets sorted soon, we will be facing mid table obscurity if not even relegation. If we are not facing progress up the table in January, we may lose some key players who want to play higher division football. Things need to be sorted very soon!
On the pitch, we should of won easily last home game, we had a very good 1st half, but should of scored more, we still cant score penalties, with James injured, no one else seems to be able to take a penalty. 2nd half was awful, their winner sums up our season at the moment, just poor defending. How from our corner can we leave 1 man back defending when we had an extra man on the pitch as well especially knowing the goal he scored in the 1st half is shocking! Also losing at home for 2nd time to ten men is insulting and then lose one of most key players to a broken leg injury, get well quickly James, you will be sorely missed. Not sure what do with our defence, how can we have one of the best defences last season to have one of the worst defence with the same defenders and better goalkeepers, the confidence has gone, the lack of team spirit has gone. If we don't win on Saturday its going to be a very hard season.
As far as I know we have new injury concerns apart from James. Lisbie, Sawyer and Legzandis all still injured as well. Not sure why Captain Clarke did not play and then was on the bench. Hopefully Nugent finds a winning formula on Saturday. Assuming its the same team from last week, well the team that turned up in the 1st half, though I would prefer Clarke over Baudry. Also with James injured, I hope Pitchard gets a start or even Lee! Goalkeeper didn't fill me with confidence so maybe Grainger should get a chance, he has to start somewhere! So my team would be this:
Grainger; Cuthbert, Clarke, Lowry, Omozusi; McAnuff, Pritchard, Vincelot, Cox; Dagnall, Henderson
Hopefully a win but I am not going to predict a score has not sure what team will turn up or even what manager will be on the sidelines
