Liverpool are the clear favourites for this one, would the Liverpool fans on here agree?

I wouldn't say so. After all United got 100 million worth of a player!

On top of that, Coutinho and Firmino won't be back until Friday/Saturday after a long travel. I would be surprised if both of them started. Lallana (probably our best player so far this season) and Lovren are Injured.

Defense and keeper still a suspect. It is pretty obvious United will just cross/hoof the ball in the box to score and then park the bus. I can see United doing a Burnley against us. Us being home is the only advantage.

Our defense and keeper (Karius) aren't off on international duty so I'm sure they'll be getting drilled on crosses ad nauseum. Its precisely what Mourinho will do, and they will probably still nick one from it. However, they are all over the place in midfield and in defense, and I think we can run riot.

Liverpool 4 - 1 Man Utd.

It'll probably come back to bite me on said bollocks, but even if you do nick it as usual, its not the end of the world. The pressure is more on Mourinho anyway.

In all seriousness though, Liverpool are flying at the moment and have gone from having an outside chance of top four to being guaranteed top four and also having a chance at the title in the opinion of most pundits and some users on here. We've gone from "the only team to have a chance of stopping City" to a laughing stock already. Liverpool are at home and have Klopp and Philippe "the magician" Coutinho.

I'm not sure why G-Dragon is so scared at the moment.

I'll be shocked if Liverpool don't win this.

If there is one team other than Chelsea usually that are capable of negating Liverpool, its Man Utd; however with it being a night game at Anfield, and having scored 9 goals in the last two home games, we have to be confident just now. I'm sure Mourinho will get you guys going on a run sooner or later as well, its nowhere near as bad this year for you lot than it has been the last three surely?

I remember us losing against United at home when we were on a good run couple of seasons ago. With so many match winners on both teams it can go either way.

That's fair enough, if Rooney starts for us you've won though!

I'm dreading this. Not for any logical reason, but for sentimental ones.

We're flying, the pundits are loving us, even some United fans struggle to hate us. We're entertaining and we haven't won anything of note in ages. Also, everyone loves a crisis and the only crisis coming out of this is if United lose. We're simply more likeable right now than we've been in my lifetime, and United are probably more despicable than ever, especially if you don't like Zlatan (which I don't and never have and I don't rate him).

Basically, Mourinho was born for matches like these. This is what he built his career on, he revels in being the bad guy and this is exactly the scene for him to shine. I'm pretty sure that if he could have any result - any - he'd take a 1-0 off a deflection with 19% possession (https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...inho-the-anti-barcelona-chelsea-pep-guardiola -- good read).

But then again, Mourinho seemingly isn't the manager he was in 2010 or even in 2014 when Chelsea ruined our title hopes. So there's no guarantee he's still got it in him. But to be completely honest, right now we're flying not least down to high confidence. We're overperforming. Two years ago, Mourinho would be the last manager in the world I'd want in the opposite dugout. It still feels that way, I'm just hoping it's sentimental and nothing else.

I'd take a fucking draw and I like my raisin balls.

I don't think any United fans are struggling to hate you by the way, just struggling to call you shit because right now you aren't!

You are still unbearably cuntish.

I don't get why you think we are overperforming Bilo, there was always a decent PL side in there that was capable of top four fairly consistently, but would somehow end up bottling it like the other year when Utd came to Anfield, won, and then we saw Liverpool throw in the towel on CL football that season. Last season they played more games than anyone else, the depth wasn't there, and after Southampton away, they stopped focussing on the league and started to go for the EL resulting in a poor finish to the league campaign. Klopp now has raised the bar for the minimum level they have to perform at raising many of the players games and hence turning them into better players that are beginning to realise their potential, and stopped making them fear opponents. and depth is as good as I can remember in a long time, so the players know that no one is undroppable now which is a healthy place to be. I've been saying it for a while that we have a side capable of competing for the CL positions, they just need to believe in themselves more and be more consistent, and I think we are now beginning to see that.

Ok well, in simple terms we've got the sixth best squad in the league. We're in form and we have the best manager bar possibly City, but player for player wise we're sixth and there's not much arguing (unless you want to claim Leicester's squad > ours, in which case we're 7th).

But it comes down to how you define overperforming I guess. But right now we're on course for accumulating 87 points this season. I'm fairly sure we'll be nowhere near that at the end of the season, to be honest. Then consider our fixture list and yeah, we've overperformed so far and quite significantly as well. No shame in that, but fairly obvious in my opinion.

Sixth best squad? I know we don't have the best squad, but sixth best?

I also don't see about us overperforming even with that fixture list so far. Yes I agree, it looked tough preseason, but we have been well drilled and up for all the games bar Burnley. The fact that some of those big sides we have played have been outplayed by us doesn't mean we have overperformed against them, its a combination of us stifling their play, and Liverpool taking their chances.

I think we need 15 more wins for CL football out of the 31 games remaining, and will take that all day long tbh; but if we can be a threat to the title, all the better.

The international break came at the worst possible time, we were flying and now we come back after over a fortnight off to play this. We're rightly favourites, we're at home, playing better football and have better form. Also, everyone loves to see Mourinho lose, if for nothing else just to see what bullshit he comes out with in the post-match interview.

A win for Liverpool by a single goal for me in a tight game, these fixtures are rarely anything else. United to score first off a dodgy set piece then they'll do what Mourinho teams do when they go up playing away at big rivals, park two buses and defend in numbers. Won't stop us winning though with two goals in the second half.

2-1.

You missed the point by a mile. We've had a very tough schedule and we're on course for 87 points. I doubt we'll be anywhere near 87 points at the end of the season. Ergo, we've overperformed so far.

Our squad is much better than sixth best in the league imo. Apart from City and Arsenal our squad is a match for anyone in the league. Every other team such as Spurs and United have their own weak areas like ours. Chelsea squad is worse than ours.

Anything less than a top 4 finish this season would be bad season for us.

If you are meaning title-winning form then yep I agree on that, and that sooner or later we'll start to drop points more regularly as it will inevitably happen, particularly if we get a glut of injuries.
