It's time once again for the mighty U's to travel to the Chavs, and looking at our record at The Lamex doesn't exactly exactly fill me with optimism, as we only managed to get all 3 points once, a 2-1 win back in 2007. Still, times change, managers and players come and go, so who knows eh? The only thing that's stayed the same is their poor home support.

Derry implied that Keane will not play against us, but with Derry no one knows if he really means what he says, so I certainly wouldn't be surprised at all if he plays. Which wouldn't bother me at all tbh. What is certain however is that the Boro will have several ex-Luton in their line-up, which is nice in way I guess.

Don't know if we have sold out or not, but either way, we should take more than 1200 at least. Which is about double the number Stevenage usually bring to The Abbey. I'm going for a 2-1 win, goals courtesy of Sir Jimmy and the simply magnificent "way better striker than Gaffney'' Ben Williamson.

I'm wondering if there is any chance at all we'll get to see this banner again Boro fans? ;)

We're looking for our third win in a row aren't we? And Stevenage are pap.

Nailed on home win.

I'd love to see us have a proper go at a lower positioned side for once. I'll be delighted if we line up:

Norris
Furlong / Coulson / Legge / Page
Donaldson / Dunne / Berry / Dunk
Spencer / Williamson

Yep, it's a big if but if we win, it would be 3 wins in a row. We've done 3 consecutive league wins before - vs Morecambe, Notts and Plymouth, but there was the Donny cup defeat sandwiched between the County and the Plymouth games.

Pressures eased a little now with the win in midweek to get something from this, can see it ending 1-1 in all honesty. As long as we don't concede in the 97th minute again I'll be happy! :ffs:

Yep I'd like to see us play 4-4-2 and go for it from the off. Despite Stevenage's win in the week, their confidence should still be low whereas ours should be reasonably high - we should take the game to them.

I think we'll sell out our allocation behind the goal and then have some fans in the stand at the side. We always take a good number to Stevenage. Allocated seating could be fun, mind. ;-)

I agree with svh: 3-1 U's and into a play off spot.

:sb:?? :dk: :(?

I'll be there for the blessing of a routine FL away match that will offer a reminder of the non-league days with few happy memories. I know various regulars who are giving this a miss (and can't blame them). Plus points are a short journey, easy parking, decent view and prospect of 3 easy points......................or perhaps not.

We always lose at Stevenage, apart from that one time, so I'm going to go for an optimistic 1-1 draw.

Hard one to call this, we have a crap record at the chavs but we're half decent away from home so with that blinding bit of logic I'll also be going for a draw.

I hate going to this so I won't be clapping.

COME ON YOU U'S.

Ps. I apologise for this rather lengthy match report, but I need to make myself clear.

What a shitty crappy gutless performance that was Mr. Shaun "yeaahhhh absolutlelyyyy, front foot, disappointin', yeaahhhh" Derry.

Great stuff. Destiny has well and truly taken over.

6 points from a possible 9 for Sarll. Probably enough for him to get the job on a full time basis, at least until the end of the season.

Bloody awful. Stevenage were faster to the ball, won everything in the air and had way more fight than us. It was embarrassing.

Every. Fucking. Year.

That was on a par with Crawley, dire. Special mentions for Furlong, Haynes, Ledson and Donaldson, crap. Terrible mistake from Coulson, he was alright apart from that but obviously a very costly error, I suspect he'll be dropped for O'Neill next week, and I'm fine with that. When Dunk plays badly, we play badly. Legge should've scored at the start of the second half and maybe we're looking at a whole different game if he does, as Stevenage were pretty average. Williamson never stood a chance with what was being served up behind him. Spencer looked a bit headless when he came on, but I suppose he had to try and make something happen.

We can still finish in the top 7, everyone else chasing that place are about as bang average as we are, not that I think we will, at all, but even if we did manage to sneak in and then fluke our way to promotion, we'd come straight back down, we're nowhere near ready for competing in this division yet let alone surviving in the one above, a lot of surgery still need on this squad before we can start looking up. We've shown in glimpses that we've got it in our locker but not consistently, and that's where we'll need the right reinforcements in the summer.
