We're going to lose, and lose heavily, that is without question. We try to play a similar way to Man City and, like last season, if we try and beat them in that way there's only going to be one winner, and it'll be the team with £250m odd of talent.

All about the performance really; let's go and give account of ourselves and really make them work for the 3 points, rather than gifting them 3 early soft goals like we did last year.

As PDS says, we try to play like a poor man's City, similar system with lots of pace, high tempo etc. Clearly City are much better at it and trying to out do them at their own game is only going to end badly.

However we do look better organised and stronger (in patches) than last season, so I'd hope we can improve on our two showings against City last season which both ended with De Bryune ripping us apart.

I can't be there this weekend, but I hope we come away with something to take from the performance. Cut out any gifts of goals and make City use their quality instead of making it too easy. Also further integration of new faces will be good.

Our first half against Man United was good and if we can use that as a starting point and improve from that, then we'll see how we go.

Wilshere dropped a right bollock for that first goal. But second goal was class.

Need to avoid the the capitulation we were at times susceptible to last season and keep ourselves vaguely in the game at half time.

Ooh nearly created a good chance as I type that, but offsIbe strikes again.

Second and third goal from City were both perfect counter attacking goals.

City have looked fantastic in every game so far this season. Wouldn't take too much from this from a Bournemouth perspective, almost every team they're likely to compete with will probably receive a similar bollocking.

Good to see Sterling getting back to what he threatened he could be a couple of years ago. The kid pissed me off obviously with what he did to Liverpool, after what they had done for him, but he's taken a beating left, right and centre ever since, and it can't be easy for a young lad to have to deal with all that no matter how much money you're making. City will walk the league this season.

OffsIbe hauled off for Wilson at half time, but whatever Howe was planning I'm sure it wasn't to immediately go 3 down!

Now we're having to change keeper too, Boruc has been excellent his season so far so I hope it's nothing serious.

Well that was a rather silly red card for City.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Shame Nolito has blotted an otherwise pretty good day by being a daft bastard.

Suspect he wouldn't have played in the League Cup anyway, so only two games really...

Loved KDB'S free kick.

Well 4-0, disappointed with a couple of the goals and a shame we didn't score when Wilson hit the bar, but hats off to City, they look excellent.

Sterling and De Bryune as usual a class above us.

For us Adam Smith did well, Arter maybe, and King did what he could. Charlie Daniels had a nightmare. Fingers crossed for Boruc being back next week. Ibe needs dropping.

I didn't see the match but Pep is known for going over the top and being quite disingenuous with his praise. He has named five or six players as being the best he has ever worked with, for example.

That's not to say you aren't the best side he has faced this season, of course!

Harsh sending off that, though expected really. If I got shoved like that by some little twat I can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing if said person then got in my face.

Wilshere had a mare apparently. He has to be the most over-rated player in the country, and has been for years, surely?

Well, he did dominate Barca's midfield at the age of 19 so any question of him being overrated is very understandable. He seems to have peaked five years ago though, which is a shame. He really did look like he would go on to be something special back in his teens.

You should see the reaction from some of our fans, we need to be realistic about going to places like City . Monchengladbach are a much better side than us (obviously) and got torn apart there a few days ago. Better teams than us will concede four to this City team in full fight.

To be fair Bournemouth can and do play some really good football. They're a credit to the league and long may they continue to be.

If that doesn't get me a reach around from Bournemouth fans then nothing will!

Yeah, I was a massive fan of his back then and genuinely wanted him to turn into the player he once threatened he could be if only to benefit our national team. I think he's one of them players that need to be 100% and no less to be really effective, but you could probably count how many times that's happened in his career on your hands.

Pep doesnt like the long ball because it exposes the weakness in his system. Usually teams arent anywhere near clinical enough to use it well enough agaonst the caliber of players at his disposal.

Good job City haven't come up against anyone with strikers who are supposedly clinical then...

United are shit, was the implication there.

Nice to see Gundogan getting a goal on his debut. Seeing as he cost less than United paid for Pogba('s agent's fee)

And but for a decent save and the post, Sterling could have had goal of the season twice. Long way to go, but I'm enjoying this season so far!
