Didn't know what other section to put this in, but I may as well as put it here as it makes most sense.
Anyways this thread is created to post a bit about the match experience. I'll share mine from last night to start off

Universitario vs Emelec (Copa Sudamericana 2016, first preliminary round north zone)
The stadium wasn't as empty as this picture suggests, there were a decent amount of fans. Mostly in the barra and where I was sitting. One thing that surprised me a bit was the number of away fans.
Football fans here have an entirely different culture than in Europe, but these were in fact away fans. They weren't Ecuadorians living here in Lima, they actually travelled from Guayaquil to see their team play. Trip must have been worth it for them as Emelec won 3-0.
Here is a bit of a nice atmosphere. We love the balloons here. It looks stunning too when you see them from another section of the stadium as well as on TV. The balloons are red and white because those are the colours of the flag here.
This was the barra. They were loud as they usually are. The Trinchera Norte in terms of atmosphere usually doesn't disappoint. Even today where we were battered.
I didn't take a picture of the scoreline. I usually do but this time I chose not too because it didn't feel right for me to do so as a fan. I left the stadium after we conceded the 3rd goal because in truth it was just too much of an embarrassment for me and many other fans who also left early to bear. This is only the second time I've seen Universitario lose live. First being to Atletico Paranaense back in the 2014 Copa Libertadores. Shambles of a performance and although it was still a good experience as going to the stadium usually is, it was certainly a frustrating night for me and fans alike.
