I’ve slagged us off a lot on here this season, so I’d better balance it up by saying I thought we were excellent today, especially the second half.

Really at it, and not fazed one bit by the sending off. Hopefully Burchnall has won a few doubters over. Of the course the worst thing is that performance ignites a bit of hope, which is the last thing you want as a Notts fan. Barnet up next, what can go wrong?

enjoyed that, cant say that many times this season.
We had that "never give up" attitude rather than the "owww not again" attitude.

A win at Barnet Saturday and we're right back in it. hopefully
They looked a united bunch, players and manager when they came off the pitch. There's a few issues, Rawlinson getting done for pace on a regular basis and Wootton not having a partner who's nailed on for a place but tonight we looked like we weren't a million miles away from where we need to be to get into the playoffs and that there's potential to get better.

Sutton must be sick of the sight of us, never beaten us including two injury time winners this season and an FA cup heartbreak in ‘94ish. Also, I told Jared they were up and to ‘enjoy the FL’ on March 23 (I checked) after a 1-3 win at Bromley which sent them four points clear at the top with 3 games in hand. I should have believed the Wrexham and Hartlepool fans when they said Sutton do this every year because of their pitch, but thought it was just a conspiracy theory.

I’m not ruling them out though, if Oloafe wasn’t forced off with cramp they would have likely won it last night. Sadly for them we play loads better with 10 men, literally our two best performances of the season have been after we had a man sent off.

Rowe reminds me of one those favourite ex league players who return to their old stomping ground for a testimonial still has a few nice touches but blows out of their arse after 15 minutes
Plays like the Dad in a 'Dads vs Lads' match that used to be a decent player but now just jogs around trying to score from 40 yards.

Hollis was putting in performances for us as a teenager in League One. Obviously never kicked on from there, but he's definitely got everything to be top class at this level.

For some reason, I’ve got a really clear memory of him making his debut against Huddersfield and doing really well against a scores every game Jordan Rhodes.

Funny what you remember.

3 defeats in the FA Cup (1994, 2008, 2011), last season’s pair of draws and now two last minute winners this season. Notts County are a bit of a bogey side for Sutton.

Realistically we shouldn’t be here, I know some posters on here joke about the pitch based conspiracy (and it’s got to be a joke right? A funny once kind of joke that’s repeated until death, but still a joke. If not I would be concerned about those repeating it), but we do have one of the smallest budgets in the league (in the bottom 6 apparently) which means that things like player recruitment is going to be difficult.

We’ve come a long way as a club. Those Notts County FA Cup ties were a massive deal for us, now we’re in the same division.

Tuesday was a major disappointment. Three stupid goals were given away, and if you concede 3 stupid goals you deserve to not win. Factor in our ability to not maximise our advantage following the red card, allowing County to reorganise, and you’ve got a recipe for disappointment.

One of the reasons I was overly cautious when we were top was I knew there plenty of twists and turns to come. Win our two upcoming home games and we’re a point off top regardless of what Torquay do on Saturday.

Almost all goals at this level are stupid goals to give away tbf. Your first equaliser was a brilliant goal but it still only happened because Michael Doyle fell over the ball in midfield.

I thought it was a really good game, to be honest. End to end pretty much the whole way through, until we weirdly got a bit of control with ten men. A good advert for the league.

Yeah there's still a lot of football to be played and plenty can happen in 4/5 games. Still think you're favourites as I'm pretty sure we'll lose at Stockport even if we get past a difficult game with Bromley on Saturday.

Win those two and we "should" be a shoo-in for the title, but we all know football doesn't work like that and we'll probably lose at home to Barnet!

The 2nd goal was an unfortunate spill by Bouzanis (I’m sure he’s been great this season by that’s twice his errors have led to goals for us) and the challenge in injury time by Eastmond for the pen was just crazy. IB was due some rub of the green after Ardley had it in spades, he’s had zero luck since coming in, culminating in Mo Ross gate on Monday, just unlucky for Sutton it decided to arrive on Tuesday..

It’s interesting for sure, although you guys seem to be a little bit relentless now. Every team has a bad run in a season. You had yours in February/March and we seem to be somewhere in ours now.

Wooderson mentioned we were top by 4 points after beating Bromley on the 23rd of March. 4 games later we were 2nd. It’s that kind of thing which keeps my stupid need to be optimistic going.
