Middlesbrough look to recover from a damaging home loss to Sheffield Wednesday when they meet an injury ravaged Reading at the Riverside. With both teams smarting from defeats neither side will want to drop points. Boro did recover to a healthy 3-1 win against Preston in the League Cup, whilst Reading stumbled over the line 1-0 against Scunthorpe in the same competition.

Middlesbrough have also bolstered their ranks by signing Ryan Fredericks on loan from Spurs, but otherwise are likely to have few changes. The visitors will not have the services of Alex McCarthy (although he has not played a League match this season) as his transfer to QPR is nigh. Injuries continue to decimate the Royals, with no fewer than 14 players either unavailable for consideration or facing late fitness tests.

Boro comfortably won the same fixture last season 3-0, I see no reason why Reading will not fall to a similar fate or worse due to their crippling injury troubles.
