I can't believe no one else has voted for OK Computer yet. It was my number 1.
It has the classics like No Surprises, Paranoid Android and Karma Police but also one of my favourite songs of all time in Climbing up the Walls, a haunting song that reflects Thom's time from working in a mental institute. For me it just feels like something is inside my brain trying to claw it's way out when listening to it. Stunning, in my mind. There's also the beautiful Exit Music (for a film) which was made for Romeo & Juliet.
I can see why people don't like Radiohead but this is one album that I think is really accessible and has stood the test of time.
Musique concrete/acousmatic godhead. Dweebs might say this stuff is pretentious or whatever, but they're twats, because it's not, it's the opposite of that. The poetics of sound at its purest... timbre, tone, and texture assembled in a spirit of curiosity and exploration.
Bernard Parmegiani - Sounds excellent - downloaded, definitely one to listen to in bed with headphones.
Bowie - Stone cold classic. A couple of the instrumental tracks let it down slightly but it's fantastic.
Cooper - One of my "guilty pleasures". I just about prefer Hey Stoopid to this but I still love it.
Radiohead - Another justified classic. Airbag reminds me of being 14 drinking lager and lime and watching Jack the Ripper documentaries.
Handsome Family - As with their earlier nomination my dislike for most modern country means I can't get into this one.
OFFICIAL VERDICT - Very good group but I'll give my vote to Low.
