Jack Rose - Raag Manifestos

Limimal post Basho/Fahey/etc folk, mesmeric sheets and waves of undulating sound, abstracted, droning, somewhat aggressive. Dark ambient played on guitar.

Can heavily vouch for Jack Rose. Covered so much ground in his fairly short time on earth. Whereas that record is more ambient, he's also done more straight-up American primitive, old weird America, ragtime, and raga-inspired drone that actually worked well. Was the subject to a several hour-long tribute album called Honest Strings after his death, which also is filled with brilliant pieces, from American primitive to prose to shoegaze.
