As Wooderson has gone missing, I'll take it upon myself to do the noble deed of getting this thread under way, even though every match on this list will probably get postponed.

06/10/2020

Aldershot Town v Sutton United
Bromley v Dover Athletic
Chesterfield v Hartlepools United
Dagenham & Redbridge v Barnet
Eastleigh v Torquay United
Maidenhead v King's Lynn Town
Solihull Motors v Wrexham
Stockport County v FC Halifax Town
Weymouth v Woking
Yeovil Town v Wealdstone

07/10/2020

Notts County v Altrincham (Live on BT Sports)

Picks of the bunch here appear to be the brotherhood clash between Chesterfield v Hartlepools, Solihull Motors RFC v Wrexham and Stockport v FC Halifax 2008.

Chesterfield will kick off their season tonight after their original opening fixture was postponed due to tinpottery, hoping for a win against fellow brothers Hartlepools who stunned nobody in beating Aldershot 2-1 on the opening day. Hartlepools undoubtedly go into this fixture as favourites in their bid to catch Torquay in the all important brotherhood table. I predict a slight win for Hartlepool with many Chesterfield fans claiming to have been 'reffed out' of the fixture.

Solihull will look to extend Wrexham's miserable record at Damson Park with a display which wouldn't look out of place at Twickenham. This will not be a match for the faint hearted and my one word advice to any neutrals looking to catch a glimpse of this fixture, is don't. Solihull opened the season with a very unimpressive loss to Woking, while Wrexham took all 3 points against a well-favoured Boreham Wood side. Solihull go into this one as favourites but I feel this is anybody's match as Wrexham are now looking more physical than before so may be able to stand up to some of James Shan's side's brutal tactics. I think a draw is the way to go in this one.

Stockport, as league favourites, will look to dismantle last season's play-off quarter-finalists Halifax with ease but a shaky display at Plainmoor may have cast a tiny bit of doubt over whether the big spenders can compete for the top spot this time round. We are, of course, very early into the season but anything other than a win for Jim Gannon's side will be seen as a disastrous result. Halifax surprised a few last season by finishing as high as they did however, and could well do so again so Stockport should not take the threat of Halifax lightly this time around. I predict a more comfortable match for Stockport tonight than at the weekend, a win by a 2 goal margin would suffice.

As I was saying... :fl:

Quick turn around for us all, Chesterfield not playing could be a plus for us, we all seen how rusty our team's looked in the first game, hopefully we take full advantage and capitalise on having a game played, expecting Bloomfield to start upfront since Parkhouse is away on international duty, bit worried about that horrendous footballer Denton and think he might have a field day in the air against our defence who aren't the tallest group of players.

Should be a game we aim to win, but can also see us conceding, 2-1 Pools?

Aldershot to stuff Sutton hopefully.

We may take a few games to get into the swing of things but I wish our manager would stop boring us to death.

Important to start Bloomfield, isn't he 6"3 or something? Could need him to mark up on set pieces.

Denton has always been hit and miss when we've come up against him. Except him, can't see any obvious threats from them on paper (famous last words). Feeling reasonably confident tonight but that's never a good sign.

I'd take a point but we should be going there for a win.

That's the thing with Denton, he doesn't have to do anything but point his Easter Island sized head towards the goal and hope someone kicks the ball at it.

Wonder if Ofosu get's the boot for Oates, who looked more than lively when he came on Saturday.

That run from the halfway line where he beat 4 or 5 then the ball got stuck under his gangly legs as he set himself to shoot was just so Rhys Oates. That's how I'd use him mind, impact sub.

Ofosu didn't do too bad on Saturday, I'd keep him in for now.

I’m not optimistic but maybe Dagenham will be just as inept as they were on Saturday.

As long as we’re not as abject as we were at Edgley Park last year.

Hope for a point with an injury hit squad. Not sure Amotayo and Nepumaceno can do another game with no pre season minutes

We hopefully start our season tonight, having rested up the weekend and upset all those proper football clubs.
I think we may get a draw at Yeovil as a couple of their players looked very leggy in the last 30 at KL on Saturday.
Hopefully Dagenham get a last minute winner off the refs arse against the Harrow Council Bung 11.

Expect we’ll be fine and win back on our nice, big pitch. Think we’re now technically unbeaten in the league at ML for a year.

We haven’t won at Aldershot since 1998. But after ending the Maidenhead hoodoo on Saturday maybe it’s a good time to end some curses.

You may be right as we have quite a small squad (17) so don't have much cover with a couple of players still out who didn't play on Saturday.

for any Halifax fans who want to watch the game tonight (I think one of you lot were asking about it).

might be worth sharing on your FB/fans forum if it hasn’t already been communicated.

Our pre-season was so poor we've no idea how we benchmark against the other clubs in this division. The squad does look strong, bags of pace and great technical ability. But whether we'll overload sides as much as we did last season is highly doubtful. Looking forward to it.

We can’t be as bad as that, I expect a couple of changes for sure. All I keep reading on various forums and social media is that we’re now moneybags, we have spent on McCallum the rest are all average at best, I expected us to finish about 10th-12th from what I saw in Preseason, nothings changed and you probably have a better chance tonight than you think you do.

We've only had 2 and a half PSFs, spaced out over 18 days too and no league game on Saturday so can see us being miles off it.

I've just bought the stream but can't see it being fun viewing. I've had a bet on Pools & over 3.5 goals at 6/1. Hope i'm wrong

Denton shouldn't start unless Tyson isn't fit. Think we will go with Tyson and Boden up top in a 3-5-2/5-3-2 paceless formation.

How did the ex-Barnet players perform for you?

Yesterday's forecast didn't look good but the weather's been comparatively fine today, should have no problems getting the game on. I'm encouraged by last weekend's performance but not by the failure for anyone to get their scoring boots on, Bell's decision making is poor as ever, Bennett doesn't look like a poacher, up to others to chip in it seems. Oh yeah, and no more team-wide brain fades like the ones that led to Torquay's goal please

Two of our players dropped for having a fight after the game Saturday. Liam Hogan and Nyal Bell. Lol.

All or Nothing: Stockport County will be some series next May.

I’ve gone from being confident of a win to the opposite. Our best player and captain dropped and morale gone to shit I should imagine. The line-up looks unbalanced as well.

Doesn’t sound like a classic on the radio, didn’t buy the stream and good job as well because they’ve only just got it working..

Bromley are showing the game for free on youtube because their streaming isn't working properly either

Stockport look a good side but think we’ve been decent and had the better chances despite Stockport having more of the ball

Apparently everyone is feeling seasick after watching Dagenham’s stream.
