People bang on about Challinor being good but he's still a Non League manager ultimately after many years. And who is that Beadle at Barnet, nobody knows. Can anyone even name Chesterfield's current manager? Not still Sheridan is it or Martin Allen or someone? All horrendous dinosaurs who have no place in a footballing world post 2010.

People rated that McMahon for a few months at Ebbsfleet after they squeaked the playoffs once and because he had long hair, but he's proved clueless too. That Danny Searle people raved about after winning 2 games in a row at already relegated Braintree a few years back is either manager at Aldershot or Yeovil now. Or both, nobody really knows.

The Waddock era is over of course, another awful manager most famous for his grinning and thinking a penalty shootout was all over moments before his side bottled it and lost.

Garrard is clearly good, bound to move onto better things soon. And Johnson is proven quality at many levels. Can't think of anyone else remotely capable in the league.

Expectations were pretty low for Beadle but he's been excellent so far. Dean Brennan is also a very good manager.

Brennan is overrated, best he is left where he is. Used to play attacking football with goals galore now we are scraping 1-0 wins.

Bobby Wilkinson is you’re man got us to 2nd in the National South one night in 2018, yes we’d played about 3 games more than anyone else. But 110% so must be in the Football League now.

I rate Challinor quite highly to be honest, he's doing a good job despite the club being a total shambles.

Could he have got Fylde up though? Well run behind the scenes which we are not, with a good budget, which we now don't have...

Its hard to tell whether he would have got us up. No doubt a good manager though. Nothing more telling than the fact he brought players in that weren’t even names at this level and 8 of them in one season got snapped up by football league clubs, that speaks volumes. His downfall was signing players that had big names at this level for decent money and they turned out to be poor. He was also good in the loan market. Annoying traits though, never offered any encouragement. Always shaking his head. That may sound minor but everybody likes being told they’re doing well. He never did that. Also always to late with substitutions. You could be 3 down at half time and he wouldn’t make a change until the 70th minute.
But all in all in my opinion. He’s in the top 3/4 managers in the national league

He's definitely got an eye for a player, although the forwards he's signed this season don't look up to the task but I think that's more budget than owt else.

Bit more proactive with subs here - made 3 changes at half time in the BT Sport Torquay debacle amongst other examples.

He's the best manager we've had for a long time but that's really not saying much. The style of football he implements is very watchable. If (when) it goes tits up this year it will not be his fault at all. Don't blame him for taking the job here though, it'd be a good gig for someone providing all is well off the pitch.

I knew Ardley was clueless but Notts fans reckoned he wasn't. Just isn't a winner is he, can tell when you hear him speak. He also looks close to tears whenever you see him.

Ardley isn’t a bad manager, I’m just not convinced that he’s got the ruthless attitude you need to win a league with only one automatic promotion spot.

In general he’s very good in the transfer market, we play nice football and are really strong at home, as well as him by all accounts being a really decent guy.

There’s plenty of reasons to stick with him (as I expect we will - our owner did his Masters dissertation or something on why sacking managers rarely works), but there’s definitely a doubt that he needs to do something to get rid of.
