Maybe it shows that even in the nether reaches of lower league football, clubs can still aspire. Fuck me, if it wasn’t for those little bits of hope we’d all have given up years ago.

We've been stuck at the same place for about 3 years with our training ground without laying a single brick, and have even purchased two sites for it. It needs sorting asap as it's part of the reason we couldn't sign players in the Championship, which in turn sent us down two divisions.

How is this worthy of a thread?
Well it shows ambition for a start ,its great to see clubs trying to invest in the infrastructure not just trying to buy success and since weve hardly signed anyone whos gonna score a shedload for us next season it also helps to keep our peckers up

We're sticking seats on the away terrace and turning the gym into a bigger bar in two fingers to healthy living.
Are you gonna get advertising boards in front of the stand that the cameras face? This has been bothering me for seasons now.

Ours is only costing £1.3million. Not sure if that's a good thing or not :pond:

Oh, and it's not a "Training Ground", it's an "Elite Performance Centre". Going to have a glass balcony and everything.

To be fair Mansfield training ground is costing the club exactly £0.

Premier league grant worth around £500,000 and the other £1.5m is coming from a joint building venture by John Radford and director Steve Hymas.

The youth academy also costs the club nothing thanks to grants and our directors.

This is interesting, the cost figures.
My club Long Eaton United are installing a 4G training/Acadamy pitch with floodlighting and fencing. It’s costing £900,000. Sport England and Premier League will be chipping in as long as the club can raise £200,000.
A couple of seasons ago we installed a full size acadamy grass pitch which cost £500k with club raising £150k.
We do have the former Leicester City Administrator as Director though.

You get a cracking view of our training facilities from the away stand at Brunton Park

Thing is they rarely train there unless it’s on the indoor pitch. Most outdoor training is done down at Creighton. That pitch next to BP is mainly used for youth and reserve matches.
