Sorry to be obsessive about this but this photo shows that Woking’s figure is a gross underestimate. The photo doesn’t even show all of the part of the Gosden stand allocated to away fans and its clear that there are more than 120 Barnet fans in the picture, plus there were around half a dozen Barnet fans who decided to stand out in the rain.

Only one thing to do now to quench your desire for righteousness, dot them heads, I've gave you a head start, first 20!

There's more dotted heads there than at the Hive every week.

It’s the same when our away attendance is 100-150

Ive never understood why fans decide to stand out in the rain when there’s plenty of cover available. From previous experience I assumed it was exclusive to northerners who call anyone holding an umbrella a ’fookin poof’.

Us Boomers laugh our bed socks off at the modern pussies who wear their hoods up, to look 'ard. In our day, hoods never went up, even if it were pissing down. The trick was to pretend you were so 'ard you hadn't even noticed it was raining, even though it was dripping off your eyebrows and running into your eyes. Corona virus? Don't make me laugh, try a dose of double pneumonia, that's what made men of us back then. :dis:

Funny how the Northern clubs do most of the travelling but bring most of the fans, innit.
Not really, when you think about it. :bdick:

No doubt or surprise who's the top draw in the Vanarama Conference.
You're welcome guys.

Look at the table, you plank!:fl:

Yep the table I posted says that northern clubs don't do most of the travelling which is what you claimed.

And also shows that just raw numbers of away fans doesn't show the full picture. To choose a club completely at random: the paltry figure that Halifax take away considering the season they've had and the small amount of travelling involved is fairly embarrassing. ;)

You don't need a table, a basic knowledge of UK geography will tell you most clubs in this God forsaken league are Southern, the majority being of the Mickey Mouse variety. There. I've said it.

I'll put up the table of guesstimates and the known figures from the North
Yellow are confirmed figures, red are the cancelled games and the home team is across. So Altrincham took 151 to Telford for example
Figures in blue down the right are the averages at that teams' ground. So Gateshead and Hereford weren't well visited (both missing out on Darlington, York and Chester, Gloucester respectively). It's unusual not to see Boston top this list but Kettering, Kings Lynn and (this season) York brought more than we usually get). Clearly, York are a popular visit
Blue figures along the bottom are each team's average, so York top it with 471

I did a mileage factor but have left it out as some teams will have not had their local derby/longest trip so done it on pure figures (and estimates)

Ranking (last year's figure in brackets)
York 471 (250)
Darlington 319 (279)
Chester 306 (317)
Hereford 188 (222)
Boston 130 (95)
Kiddy 119 (143)
Gateshead 110 (unsure)
Kettering 106 (unsure)
Alty 105 (176)
Kings Lynn 103 (unsure)
Spennymoor 78 (90)
Southport 73 (90)
Guiseley 72 (57)
Telford 65 (109)
Alfreton 50 (45)
Blyth 49 (61)
Gloucester 47 (unsure)
Bradford 47 (67)
Leamington 44 (48)
Farsley 40 (unsure)
Curzon 26 (27)
Brackley 22 (28)
LEAGUE AVERAGE 117 (from 155)

Darlington travelling relatively well for a side who was midtable most of the year
Hereford drops a lot. Had it not been for their opening week turnout at Gloucester their average is 138
Similarly our average drops to 95 once our effort at Lynn is removed (but we've had years without a local game so I'll take it!)
No doubt those near the top would've been boosted with the big followings expected as the business end of the season approached.
Kettering generally travelled well despite a tough first season up here
Kings Lynn generally having to travel further than average impacted their average slightly although it would doubtless have increased with the title at stake and Kettering to come

Always thought that we've travelled well in our numbers wherever we go.

I'd be cautious of the numbers we had at Spennymoor, it's well known over a thousand were there but Spennymoor haven't released the official number as they were letting people in through the main gate and not counting people.

Don't forget we took 1229 away fans down to Walsall for the FA Cup game, seriously impressive seeing that away stand full and that last minute equaliser going in.

Impressive average imo for this league, ours would have been much higher had we played Bradford Park Avenue away (would have taken at least 600/700), Gateshead (would have been at least 1000 up there) and you could even say Southport had we had the chance of the playoffs.

Looking forward to the season being back and I can schedule in more weekends away following my club all over the country. #UpTheDarlo
