Expect Laing to be back in for Hewitt, and a disappointing 1-1 draw. No reason for us not to expect the win, but it's been so long since we've been a team that can get a run together that the pessimist in me keeps expecting us to lose and for the run to end.
Probably a good thing for us having a game on Tuesday after the frustrating end to the derby yesterday. Morecambe will probably feel the same. I'd be expecting/hoping for a win here, Morecambe's form doesn't look great and they're probably being affected by the speculation around Bentley. We'd been on a good run before Mansfield and need to refind that again.
Suddenly feels like an important match, win and we're top seven, lose, and the home form looks meagre, no momentum and the whingeing about the team / manager will begin in earnest. Incredibly there's already a few grumbles after a pretty decent start.
Absolutely dreadful from us. We're a weird team, been going along okay but that's like the fourth time this season we've thrown in a performance that's as bad as anything you'll see in the division this season. Can't keep doing that every few weeks if we want to actually get anywhere.
you sound a bit bitter, NSE? They are no scummy sheep fiddlers!
Apart the usual match day rivalry I don't have anything against the 'pies. Although as a youngster I used to go to the the odd forest game when the stags weren't playing, if I weren't a Mansfielder and lived in Nottingham I think I would support the 'pies. Lots of ups and downs to keep you entertained.
I think they will finish lower mid table. A season of transition and then next season I can see them pushing on for the play offs or even top 3 - depending on the investment and stability (or lack of) from the Trews and signings made by Sheridan.
Morecambe are a funny team, made a great start to the season again, but every attempt to figure out why they are doing as well as they are falls short, every kind of statistic you look at implies they're actually among the worst teams in the division (experimental 3-6-1 has them down as the worst team in the division by some margin by thier reckoning) and the bookies have them down as relegation candidates, but they just somehow win games, Jim Bentley is a kind of genius and Tom Barkhuizen is a pretty good striker.
