What is it with Stevenage purposefully setting out to kick the shit out of our one talented player every single time we play them!?!

Anyway, deserved win but should've been much more emphatic. I like what Cooper's been able to do so far - we're playing some nice football again but look more solid at the back than we have at any time this season. Aborah is back to running the show and there's a few players staking claims who have done nowt all season, particularly Atkinson and Audel. Stead and Campbell are still wank but, overall, it's looking a bit better.

any optimism I have about next season is always dampened by the fact Jon Stead has another year on his contract. Hopefully the new owners are rich enough to tear it up and chuck him in the Trent.

Definitely need to look at getting Audel a new deal sorted I think - apart from that not sure who'd I keep. Noble maybe but I wouldn't pay him a lot, he's as overrated as it gets - Atkinson too perhaps for his versatility and the fact he looks to have gone from dreadful to ok. Deadwood galore to shift too - at least Cooper seems like a sensible chap that will go about things in a way far more sensibly than Moniz (*cough* Branston *cough*) or Derry did.

I doubt we'll keep Noble, someone higher up in League Two (HI SHAUN) or even lower League One will look at the goals he's scored and decide to chuck some money at him, ignoring that they only come after he's blazed nineteen others ten yards over the bar when there's a simple pass on. I like the guy and he's clearly a talented player but just not consistent/intelligent enough to be part of a good team for me.

Hollis might get a new deal too, I guess - he's cheap and not terrible, although we clearly need two new centre backs.

Hollis gets way too much flack, he's absolutely fine for league one and two and is more than worth a new deal. We need players that care, Hollis cares, be like Hollis

I hope we keep Nobsa too, inconsistent but on his day he's awesome. League two footballers are here for a reason, be it injuries, inconsistent or fitness.

I can't remember many games where Noble's been awesome. I've rarely considered him man of the match in the 2 years he's been here, he just comes up with moments - I'm not devaluing that because some of the goals he's scored have been a) really good or b) really important but I wouldn't call him one of the top midfielders at this level which is weird for someone with the combined goals and assists he's had since joining the club.

Sign me up for keeping Hollis too. I like him, he's clearly not someone we're ever going to be selling on for 6 figure sums and we still need to sign two centre-backs in the summer as a priority but he's had large periods in a Notts shirt where he's looked more than capable and he wants to be here.
