Aldershot Town v Weymouth

Screen Shot 2021-10-25 at 15.09.05.png

With a 12% chance of precipitation, heavy rumours are circulating The Rec that the referee will be conducting several pitch inspections tomorrow. Should the game go ahead, Aldershot must fancy their chances of a rare win at home to their relegation rivals.

Altrincham v Solihull Moors

Funny one are Altrincham, so far this season they have managed to out-Devonshire Devonshire and have put a couple of brothers to the sword, but they are also capable of losing to Wealdstone. BT have chosen this one to be the TV fixture tomorrow evening, with Champions League football moving to next week to accommodate.

Chesterfield v Eastleigh

5500 people in attendance for this one, 500 of whom being scouts from Peterborough watching Tshimanga bang in his 11th and 12th goals of the season.

FC Halifax Town v Dagenham & Redbridge

Halifax to win and that tit to start 15 threads about it the following morning.

King's Lynn Town v Boreham Wood

Nah, not covering this one.

Maidenhead United v Wrexham

Phil Parkinson is about to embark on his biggest task of the season to date, to avoid a Devonshireing on Maidenhead's home turf. Now that Wrexham have discovered their midfield, they will fancy their chances of breaking their season-long record of 1 game won on the bounce in the league.

Notts County v Bromley

After their historic win on the weekend, Burchnall's job is safe at Notts County but Bromley are tricky customers and could make life difficult for the Magpies. An emphatic away win could see the home fans, who last week were chanting Burchnall's name, storm the pitch in protest of the fact they have half the coaches in this league but aren't getting the results they expect.

Stockport County v Barnet

Anything but double figures for Stockport here and Rusk is gone. I have heard that the home fans are planning on refusing to celebrate until the 10th goal is scored, which against Barnet is always a distinct possibility.

Wealdstone v Grimsby Town

Grimsby to continue their 40 game win streak away at Wealdstone with a 3-0 thrashing, with 20k Grimsby fans descending on Grosvenor Vale.

Yeovil Town v Woking

Huge mid table clash taking place at Huish Park tomorrow evening, as 15th place Yeovil look to go within 1 point of 12th place Woking. It is a match that the fans are describing as a match that will indeed be taking place tomorrow.

Southend v Dover

Postponed until next week, due to Dover being rewarded with another chance in the FA Cup despite refusing to take to the field in their qualifier with Yate last week. No jokes to be made here, it really isn't their fault. Honestly, it isn't.

We need to bounce back. One thing we have been good at under Wild is not stringing defeats together. We have generally always bounced back with a win. Hopefully we do that again.

Nice profile chief.

Another big game at the Lane, with Bromley visiting on a seven game winning streak. Have they beaten anyone good though, that wasn’t in a cataclysmic downpour?

I like the sound of that. Had a Wealdstone podcast guy (?) on the Grimsby pod today, sounds like you like to knock it around which will hopefully play into our hands as I'd say we've had our more comfortable performances/wins vs sides that give us a bit of space.

Interesting game, really tough one to call. Bromley are in great form, although I don’t think it’d be unfair to say that they’ve had a pretty kind run of fixtures, Grimsby aside. We’ve recovered well from our week from hell, in no small part thanks to all of our centre backs being fit again.

A rare one for two relatively new managers in Burchnall and Woodman, as well, in that they know each other’s teams quite well. We played twice in the last three games of last season, Bromley taking four points to get themselves into the play-offs, but Notts having the better of the play and the chances in both.

Would expect tomorrow to follow a similar pattern, us dominating the ball and them a threat on the break and particularly from set pieces. Feels a defining week for us, need to take four points from this and Grimsby if we have genuine aspirations of a title challenge.

Aye, we do and it's been a subject of criticism recently as we've been playing it around at the back but without any purpose or impetus to get the ball forward. Calls for the team to go direct are laughable as Umerah successfully holds the ball up maybe 10% of the time so it always comes straight back. Much improved on Saturday at Weymouth with us playing at a much quicker tempo although Grimsby will be a far tougher test.

Alex Dyer and Charlie Cooper are the two midfielders who pulled up with injuries on Saturday, the latter is definitely a hamstring injury and the former looked to be the same. They've probably been our two most influential midfielders so having them out will be a real blow. My suspicion is that it will force Maynard into a formation switch going from 3-5-2 to 3-4-1-2 with Medy Elito playing as the '10' behind the two strikers.

My fear is that Grimsby will repeatedly overload us on the flanks and we'll struggle to get to grips with it all game. Shame Michee Efete has supposedly come down with the 'rona, he'd have got a good reception tomorrow night.

Yes. Looking at the size of their players they seem to have a few giants. Still, with Cameron and Rawlinson back I’m more confident than I would have been about their set pieces. Will be a tight game imo.

Tom Whelan returning to our place with his Eastleigh side. Absolutely no doubt in my mind that he’s going to have a blinder, I was really gutted to let him go but I do think Khan and Clarke are better players in his position so something had to give. Although having said that both of those are out injured at the moment, so Whelan would probably playing!

I reckon we’ll be unchanged from the weekend, that’s if Miller is fit to start anyway, which if isn’t the case then a more than capable Whittle comes in to replace him.

Don’t know much about this Eastleigh team but I do think we’ll have too much for them. Going for a 3-1 win with another goal each for Rowe & Tshimanga, followed by an Oyeleke thunderbolt! Whelan to get a goal on his return for them

That's the same Charlie Cooper that used to play for FGR, I'm assuming?

And yeah, a shame about Efete. We haven't seen him for a while, as before COVID his last involvement was getting red carded at Bromley at the end of September. We do attack a fair bit down the flanks, of which Efete had been quite a vital ingredient down the right. Ryan Sears, his replacement, is more in the solid and reliable but not marauding mould but Sousa and Bapaga tend to create enough problems on their own when they're playing. The key to stopping us is probably stopping Alex Hunt and John McAtee getting on the ball.

Sounds like it could be a decent match and it sounds like it could be dry which will be nice. I'm also hearing rumours that your away end has a roof?! Praise the lord, what a treat.

We need to be winning this no disrespect to Stone, but with County coming up being a much harder game.

Reading that sounds like you could play right into our hands as we work hard to press so if you fanny about at the back it could cause issues (believe it was Altrincham were we pressed a lot and stopped them playing), I would also say our strongest play comes from the wings especially if Sousa starts.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if we see McAtee charge down a keeper and get a deflection into the net before the season is over. He's been close a few times now.

Also Aberstone, any idea if your ticket office are helpful? I've got my ticket, but the three I bought for my mates have gone missing in the post and I'm hoping our ticket office are on the case sorting it out with yours but they've gone quiet today. Might have to be ringing your ticket office in the morning.

School holidays let’s send everyone on Tuesday night 400 mile round trips, clueless national league. Hopefully will follow up Saturday’s battering of the shrimpers with a decent away win, need to win this or Saturday and draw the other. Second suspension game for McCallum 3 match ban not that we’ve missed him so far but slightly better opposition in Hovisfax but prove different.

Our ‘keeper does Cruyff turns in his own six yard box. It’s happening.

That’s motivated me to dig out this absolute gem from our ongoing chaos years. Once can happen etc.

Half day booked off tomorrow ahead of the drive down. From what I can gather, the Barnet result means a couple of hundred extra fans will turn up.

Fair play that’s a rubbish trip for a Tuesday you lot have, I did Halifax on a Tuesday night about 3-4 years ago but never again with the night time roadworks all the way back made it a 6 hour journey

Tough game away to Halifax but the sort we have to grind up if we want to be right up there. If not, then I imagine we’ll be more in the battle for 7th.
Not had many draws this season so I’ll go for the 1-1.

The best thing about the Maidenhead programme is this lovely picture of a nice old man. Im going to put it in a frame.

Made alot more sense than the Woking manager on Saturday, he really should get the Newcastle job - the new owners can afford the translator...

Probably one for BornUnderTheElmslie to see if they can assist. We don’t have a ticket office unfortunately.
