Or Wolves vs Ipswich

Both teams seem to be in decent form. We have won 7 and drawn 1 of our last 8 games, Ipswich have won a few in that time too. In 7 attempts since Mick left Wolves we have never beaten one of his sides. We always have trouble breaking down his teams, and end up drawing. I would warn against anyone putting Wolves on their betting slip this weekend.

Only change I would make is bringing Barry Douglas back in for Ruben Vinagre, providing he is fit. Also wouldn't surprise me to give Bonatini a break for Costa.

Ruddy
Bennett - Coady - Boly
Doherty ------------------ Douglas
Neves - Saiss
Costa - Cavaleiro - Jota
Cue Mick McCarthy moaning about Wolves buying the league in his post match interview.

Prediction: 1-1, Cav and Garner to score.

Is true though isn’t it?

Will be a huge result if we get anything from this.

Well Middlesbrough, Aston Villa have spent twice as much as we have on our squad, whilst Fulham, Sheff Wed, Derby and even Reading have spent close on their squads to what we have so no mate, it's not very true.

Does that include all of your loanees? They must be costing a few bob!

You can’t really blame Mick for commenting on how much has been spent by clubs when he has to work on such a pittance.

I don't expect anything from this despite Micks record against Wolves. Even an optimistic hope of a top 6 finish probably wouldn't include points away at Wolves- though it is concerning that we haven't beaten many sides in the top 8 or so, so far, other than Derby.

3-1 Wolves

Seems to be the way it's going over time. I doubt it will be long before Marcus Evans sells up to a rich foreign investor. You see so many of them turn bad, we just got lucky with Fosun.

He’s supposedly been open to offers for a while but nobody has been interested. It just is so frustrating he stays around the club when he runs on a very tight budget throughout the club. He wasted his best chance of promotion in January 2015 by not investing. We were too 2 at new year

Another solid win, although we probably should have been more clinical. 10 points clear of 3rd at the halfway stage, I don't think any Wolves fan would have dreamt of this scenario.

Don't really think we can analyse that critically. A defensive display against a better side, resulting in a 1-0 away defeat.

Likely 3 points adrift of 6th at the half way stage. As preseason relegation candidates, most realistic Town fans will take that. Though I have niggles in my mind over our stance on offers for McGoldrick and Bartosz in the January window.

You're a hard team to beat, typical of the way Mick sets his teams up (did the same for us). You didn't do badly today and on another day Waghorn scores and it's 1-1. I think you've still got a good chance of the playoffs, but you need some of the injured players to return sooner rather than later.

Webster had a very good game at the back for you.

That is good to hear. I have to admit, he’s starting to win me back on side. We’ve been looking good since the loss against Norwich.

We’ve played most of the top sides away from home so they’ve all got to come to Portman Road (Wolves, Cardiff, Derby, Villa, Sheffield United, Leeds, Boro).
