It's only Wednesday but so what, I'm rather optimistic these days.

A big test for us coming up - a Walsall side with the best away record in the division. A frightening prospect for us......had we still Kelly or Dunn in charge. We dont fear anyone these days, we tend to do better against the sides in or around the automatics spots, and we're in decent form under Lord Shez's second reign.

Current form:

Latics: WWDLW
Walsall: LWWWL

Likely team:

Coleman

Dummigan - Wilson - Gerrard - THD

Dieng

Palmer - Kelly - Jones

Main - Forte
Prediction: Latics 2-1 Walsall (Forte & Jones)
705 Saddlers.

1-1, Bradshaw and Gerrard to score.

About my 4th time to Oldham in 4 seasons. I tend to love the away grounds that have the best and easiest parking, meaning I really like Oldham thanks to that big car park. Is that still there? And has that side stand been built yet?!

Would settle for a 1-1 to be honest. Although a win would be massive for us.

Car park is still there, but not quite as big. Should be OK to get in it if you get there before 2:30 ish
Stand is sort of complete. Some of the insides still need finishing (Gym, Supporters Bar, etc) but it does make the atmosphere a little better.

Your lot seem to have hit your straps again recently, unlucky for us!.

Very tough game for us, the balance of a result depends on which Walsall turn up. If it's the one that got swamped in midfield and had to resort to hoofball last week, the it's a home win - if it's the one that gets time and space to counter teams and play intricate attacking football - then we have a chance.

Time to stop messing around with 3-5-2 and wild formations - go back to 4-4-2. Play Henry at left back, with Chambers next to Mantom, Hiwula next to Tom - Morris and Milan wide, hopefully O'Connor is back as I wasn't overally keen on Pennington, didn't think he pulled his weight in the air and gave stupid fouls away against Sharpe last week.

The fact Oldham have to come out and attack, gives me a touch more confidence.

Entertaining 2-2 draw, with 640 from Walsall.

One thing your midfield will not get is time and space. We are playing good old fashioned yard dog biting at your ankles type football. Your right we do have to attack but we are getting quite adept at keeping clean sheets 3 out of last 4. If your not up for a battle though you might as well not come!
Could be a decent game.

Will take Pennington every day of the week over Downing. At least he looks up for it.

Meh, maybe so. I'd rather just have O'Connor back to be honest as other than the natural football ability, I thought Downing was on a par with Pennington defensively last week. Although that's not saying a lot.

We are very lightweight all over the park and when teams don't give us a second to breath or play, we generally don't do so well. Colchester (A team almost relegated) and Sheffield United (a team playing for nothing) have looked more up for it, won more headers and tackles and looked more interested in games than us in our last couple of outings. As I say, swamp us and don't less us breathe and we are in trouble against any side. Leave gaps on the counter or space in midfield though and we are very good.

Your diagnosis has just made me much more confident. Sounds like you are the ideal opposition for us at the moment.

This unlitimately means we are gunna get walloped

Can see why Walsall are up there. Very decent looking side.

Both teams have had a couple of chances though, so unlikely it'll end 0-0.

Really hope Main keeps scoring.

Accentuates just how inept our chairman and manager are.

Good team Walsall but the continued hard graft is seeing us right. I'd take the end of the season now

Utter fucking shit.

We'd still not have scored even if we were playing now. Awful.

Wouldn't say that. You have to give credit where it's due to our keeper. He had a blinder

Awful result two losses on the bounce now, not the time to do that.

Worrying. This game in hand has to be a win now

Understatement there somewhat. Tip over the bar, dive at the strikers feet, 2 as you say, at him, dominated his area. Agreed he was helped by what is becoming a superb defense but don't take it away from the guy his performance was a1
