for non payment of loan fees and not paying Rochdale their ticket money from the recent Derby at spotland. Pretty disgraceful that we fuck over another football league team like that. Rumour has it they aren't th only team chasing us for ticket money......

Bury owe us ticket money too, apparently from last Aprils match and also from the one a month back.

I don't believe outsiders of the club realise just how fucked we trully are. We are just as much in the shit as Charlton or blackpool imo. The only difference being their fans have still got fight in them. 20 years of league 1 with only 2 play off campaigns and a couple of big cup games in that time has seen fans leave us in droves.

With the current owners we have seen crowds half, and we are down to the hardest of the hard core. They have saddled the club with debt to build the as yet unfinished new stand. Vast majority of profits from the new stand go to oec, not latics.

We can't buy a goal. Worst goal scoring record out of the top 8 flights of English football.

If something drastic doesn't happen very soon oldham athletic is at great risk of going under. I'm resigned to relegation this year, it's a miracle it didn't happen last year.

It was posted on our forum last week along with saying Oldham owed us money. No idea if it's true, it appears they got the Oldham bit correct though.

Yeah, I've seen it on there but not seen any official message! I'm sure if Oldham have been done for it then we will seeing as ours is further back?

Don't think it's as much tho.

So the latest on this is Simon Corney has put out a 15 minute Web video throwing the gauntlet down to fans of the newsagents board to come and interview him live on the state of the club. No holes barred.

He has blamed anyone and everyone but himself for the state of our affairs. We really are a laughing stock

Many of our fans think the sun shines out of Corneys arse though and lap up what he says. I will forever be grateful for him saving the club but as far as I am concerned his departure is well overdue. I dont believe a word that comes out of his mouth.

I understand that we arent financially a big club but how many other teams in the football league are in a similar situation to us yet come accross so amateur? none. He literally flogs any asset we have for next to nothing then does an interview moaning about how small our crowds are meaning we cant compete. Imo the fans wont come back until he is gone.

It's not that we are shit. We have been shite for years.

-lost the manager, all staff and released all but 5 players in summer meaning we have lost all identity and momentum.
-pr disaster after pr disaster. Ched gate etc
-sells all our assets on and off the field to the point now where we are literally worth fuck all
-lies after lies regarding everything from management, to the new stand.
-piling the club with debt to build the new stand yet a subsidiary company (oec) takes all the profits except match day income.
-running the club so unprofessionally with such things as paying players and other clubs late repeatedly. Also faced 1 winding up order and with us facing a 300 grand tax bill next week says things like "we don't have it at the minute but we will.find it from somewhere"

This is literally the tip of the iceberg and if I thought about it I could easily triple my gripes.

All we.want as oldham fans is a team we can relate to, an owner who actually gives a shit about the club, and a plan to take the club forward over the medium to long term. All we ever get is the cheap option and enough is enough. Corney out

I have sympathy for Oldham fans ,but one club much worse of than you is Coventry.
We have nothing at all and our last asset the training ground is being sold for housing, which leaves us with absolutely nothing at all plus crowds are now down to 7000.

We have crowds of sub 3000 depending on the opposition. Although I would agree Coventry are in a bad place much of our plight hasn't been publicised nationally cos we are only little old oldham.

Given the toss up between the two I would rather be Coventry right now. Regardless what happens you have the pulling power and potential fan Base to revive and rebuild. Our support, and our town is simply letting our Club die.

I think our situation is alot worse than you boys.........for the time being!

I wish you all well though, I bet Liam Kelly wishes he'd stuck around with you lot instead of joining our circus. Good player though - Our record signing apparently, shame he is injured till March.

There are a lot of clubs that are managed in a bad way. Including ours. It just so happens that Oldham are flavour of the week!

Interesting read, feel bad for Oldham but then recall your fans singing 'going bust' to us the last two times we have met, bit odd considering all this that has been posted, we seem as bad as each other.
What can our fixture be called when we meet in March? - 'Pay the tax man derby.'

I also recall the Oldham fans banging on the windows of their supporters buses as they left Gigg Lane after a night match waving money at us and laughing at us for ' going bust ' .
We were very close to going bust too, 2002 , the Nev. Neville heroic rescue mission was the only thing that saved us from the abyss .
Banter is banter , and it's great , but that wasn't banter that night , that was revelling in another's misfortune .
Never had much room in my heart for the latics since then I'm afraid , but I wish them success in staying afloat , I wouldn't want any side to go down the pan.

I can get your point to an extent.

Back when you nearly went bust we were proactive ourselves in helping to raise money to keep your club afloat, and despite the banter on the terraces nobody wants to see a club go out of business, let alone a local one.

I think the main reasons for the more recent comments from our fans is that from the outside it seems you're spending beyond your means again, to the point where it seems you haven't learnt your lesson from the first time.

Remember it well Argentinian scored their equaliser, ref was awful, big crowd, especially for a Tuesday night game. Wadsworth was in charge at Oldham O recall.

If it was the same board making the same mistake I could understand, it isn't. This new lot have come in and ignored numerous cries from fans to meet with us and listen to us sit down with us and discuss plans. Most have been ignored bar the odd fans forum. We even sent an open letter via the Bury Times warning the board about past overspending and we were labelled 'keyboard cowards.'
Basically a lot of Bury fans are aware and unhappy with our overspending, it isn't like we are ignorant to it or bragging about our riches.

Sadly there is next to nothing we can do though aside from support our team and hope their plans somehow work.

Oh don't get me wrong, we know it's not the fans fault. But as supporters, we can only "take the piss" out of the fans really, rather than your board. It's how it works.

The farce today is just another feather in the incompetent cap the club seems to wear permanently.

Granted it was cold this morning. Frost on the cars and -1 on the thermometer but it's been gloriously sunny since 9am. The only ground in the country I think to be off today.

All because they watered the piggin grass this morning. Muppets.

1 home game in 6 now just when we really need the money. The Lincoln game is a must win for the coffers
