Ah yes, prime time on the opening Saturday is....Peru???
Still, fair play to them for making their first world cup in 36 years. Be a momentous occasion for them, even without talisman Paolo Guerrero. Yes, their joint top scorer from the qualifiers is out after failing a drugs test. They'll likely be relying on Jefferson Farfan and Edison Flores, who was their other top scorer in qualifiers.
Could they make some noise in this tournament? After France, that 2nd spot is wide open and they showed their talent in qualifying, drawing with Colombia and Argentina and beating Uruguay, all on home soil admittedly. How will they perform in Russia?
As for the Danes, they always seem to have a handful of good players and smashed the Irish in their play off game, so they should have the full support of the home nations!
Eriksen is obviously the main man for Denmark and he is coming off a superb season with Spurs. No doubt we'll have the usual Bendtner banter as well.
Hard to call this one. The Danes should win you'd imagine, but Peru are a wild card that could crumble away from their high altitude home stadium, or could flourish on their first major stage.
