Announcement Plans to Pull Most Creative Media Advertising On 1FF

Most of you probably haven't noticed we display some advertising on-site , but for those of you who have clocked the limited use of the odd banner ad from time to time, I can confirm we are transitioning to phase these out in the coming 1-2 months, instead preferring to push Text Link (Sponsors) sales and guest posts.

Taking into account user experience, this switch will mean soon 1FF will show only minimal banner advertising (images/graphics).

Through split testing it has become clear we command higher fees for links in most cases, and generally these are generally considered much less obtrusive.

Moving forward we will only retain sponsored links in the header and footer of the site (which are hidden via a dropdown menu on mobile), and sponsored threads. A minimal amount of banner advertising will remain for some time to honour any advertising contracts we have previously entered into.

Hopefully this switch will improve user experience considerably and lead to greater engagement from a cleaner looking 1FF.

Then change your settings Meadow, you've been told personally several times before.

If you're opted in, don't moan. We email those who accept Admin emails in their settings (perfectly legally and above board), and include an opt out link in emails. So how about you take a second to read and take responsibility for your preferences so we can all save a little time.
