I genuinely can't see past a home win. I've had this one nailed down as a defeat for a few months, with Pompey completely outplaying us at Brunton Park.

A defeat wouldn't be that damaging but we'd need to bounce back with home wins against Hartlepool and Mansfield next week, and I'm confident we'll do that.

3-0 Pompey

If we win this it'll be huge. Got to be the toughest game of the season given the quality Portsmouth have and our respective positions in the league, they'll be wanting to at least cement their play-off place but we could really do with at least another point to keep us in the mix.

If we let Portsmouth play then obviously we'll lose, so I'm hoping we set up the same as we did on Monday and can shock Portsmouth early on and grab a goal. Still think we'll lose however we set up though.

Should be a home win but will probably be a 0-0 draw.
We are excellent on our day unfortunately it's very often not our day and we can be average at best

Portsmouth are, so I'm told, let down by their home form this season. Granted they're a good team who totally outplayed us at Brunton Park and should win this on paper, and we've been on awful form and should lose this on paper, but I think we've a chance if the win against Brovers has put the wind up us to mount a play-off push, which might come too late but it would be nice to see one nonetheless.

As they say, the game isn't played on paper, it's played on grass.

Or a mixture of mud and sand at Newport marshes

Just watched Luis Pedro's interview, I fucking love him already. Speaks the language very well and says he wants to earn a longer deal here. The fans already seem to have warmed to him a lot so if he can get a goal or two before the end of the season I'd say he's got a great chance of a longer stay.

Play him tomorrow Keith.

I just hope that win against Bristol Rovers wasn't a one off because we really need to win some more fucking games, I think to make the play offs we'd need to win 5 more of our remaining games to get 70+ points. If we don't make it then that's that, but we at least need to play some good stuff to end the season like we did against Rovers and not the shite way we were playing before that.

The thing to remember is that on paper we're always likely to lose tomorrow regardless of how we play, so we shouldn't be too disheartened in terms of whether we can make the play-offs when it does happen.

Portsmouth should be the best team in the league but they ain't... On their day they probably are up there but they are far to inconcistentt.. Plenty of worse sides have got points against Pompey

Plus they give their best players away cheaply to an inferior club in the same league, that club then goes on to win the division thanks to Portsmouth happily giving them their best player for free.

Portsmouth don't seem to have their off days against us unfortunately. We've scraped two draws from them the last two times we've played them at BP but last season they trounced us at their place and I fear the same tomorrow.

@officialcufc: Your team today – Gillespie, Miller, Raynes, Ellis, Grainger, Joyce, Stacey, Comley, Kennedy, Hope, Wyke #cufc

Looks like a 4-5-1 from us. Portsmouth fans prepare to be bored out of your mind like never before.

Not happy that Gilliead is dropped. I thought he played well on Monday playing just off Wyke

Scored twice at Villa Park today. Colin West was there to run the rule over him, so I'd expect we'll recall him so we can have him for the Hartlepool match.

We need to sign a new keeper in the summer. Get rid of Hanford and give Gillespie some real competition because he's becoming complacent. These goalkeeping fuck ups are becoming far too frequent.

Keeper had a mare. Never seen a goalkeeper so uneasy on the ball. Comfortable boring game untill the last 10 when the direct football started. Be surprised if no action is taken against the number 3. Looked like he actually hit Doyle off the ball. Just be a case of anyone seeing it or catching it on camera.
