Apologies to go all serious, but has anyone had to try and sort out their elderly parent's finances prior to the onset of dementia?

The old fella's money is all over the place and it's a bastard trying to trace it all. Obviously he isn't too good at remembering what he's got or where it is. Noticed he had a monthly standing amount to Lloyds Bank for what looks like handling tranches of shares but they have no knowledge of what it actually is - still happy to receive the monthly though!

Is there any easy way to actually find out where all his assets are with an almost complete lack of paperwork

Citizens Advice Bureau.

Might also be some useful advice on MoneySavingExpert forum too.

Don't ask for advice from people on here, (unless it's about Pokemon Go).

Speak to your lawyer as well for help. We did that for my gran who didn't have Alzheimer's but needed care in her last few years and she was happy enough for us to do that.
