So the Premier League has stormed into life this season with a standard fixture list and stadiums full to bursting (for many clubs) after the UK steadily proceeds on the path to normality after the pandemic. We take a look at the top 4 clubs in the table after 8 games, featuring three mainstays & one surprise early contender.
Chelsea
Chelsea have started life in the 21/22 league in inspired form winning 6 of their opening 8 games; scoring 16 league goals and conceding just 3. Bookies have certainly taken note of this and pricing as low as 33/10 with betting partner SBK can be found for them to win the league.
Liverpool
After winning the title in 19/20, their title defence in the interrupted 20/21 season was underwhelming at the very least. Life at Anfield has certainly started brightly this season though with the Reds winning 5 and drawing 3 of their opening 8 games, making them the only unbeaten side in the Premier League. The bookies are pretty comprehensive in their endorsement of Liverpool's title hopes, with odds as short as 7/2 being offered as of 8 games in.
Man City
It will come as absolutely no surprise that Manchester City comprise of the top 4 after 8 fixtures, they are a mainstays in the Premier League and this looks unlikely to change for some time. In fact, despite currently sitting 3rd they remain clear favourites in the eyes of the bookies & the majority of punters are backing them to truimph once again; this being reflected by their odds to win the title sitting at a tiny 1/1 – that's even money!
Brighton – Say What?!
Who predicted this then, sports fans? BHA have started the Premier League 21/22 season in simply inspired form; sitting pretty in 4th position with 4 wins, 3 draws and just 1 defeat in their opening 8 games. Despite this incredible start, most people with sane heads fully expect Brighton to spend the majority of the season towards the other end of the league and this is reflected in their odds to win the league still sitting, at a more than hefty, 500/1.
So that's it, your top 4 in the Premier League as of 8 games in. The odds shown in this article are taken from the bookies offering the best odds available in these markets. This is of course subject to change and if you want to find betting sites for UK then you can do so via the link here.
