Any Chesterfield fans thinking trying to get in the shay on Saturday, you’ve no chance following our latest announcement. Need all sorts of ID etc. Photo proof with Halifax postcode etc
I bet not many Halifax fans have the Halifax postcode. After all, the only people that end up there are the ones that have missed the turn off for Huddersfield or Bradford.

I don't think anyone was, to be fair. The prospect of running into B2TF was a risk most weren't prepared to take.

Feel for your exiled fans, of course.

I’m not sure why but I’ve always had a strange kind of liking for sitting in home ends and having that edge thinking that I’d better not give myself away or I might get a kicking, and I’m as placid a guy as they come yet for some reason I love feeling that edge at a game.
The only one where we’ve made no secret of our allegiances was away at Bolton because there was a coach load of us and we celebrated all our goals without caring, including our injury time equaliser and there was no bother at all.
Off the top of my head think I’ve been in 5 or 6 home ends in my time.

Wouldn’t bother me personally away fans in home end but I can understand why these rules have been put in place. Our local council have made it a very limited capacity

Our original capacity was 1600 could only sell 1410 for this match as that capacity now apparently includes sponsors, complimentary and now Media guessing BT sport have a load of that. How much do BT give for home teams, will it be more than the £10 per head for stream fans who didn’t fancy it and Wrexham who I’m assuming would have been ordering in the hundreds at £10 a pop.

Strange choice for BT really. Thought us or Notts would have been on

Nah, it makes sense. Assume logistically they had to choose before the Eastleigh game tonight, so it’s the only one that is actually guaranteed to have something on it before knowing the Eastleigh result.

El Americano (American owner derby) Guess they will want a game of whose in 7th and if Eastleigh win tonight that’s who they’ll have. Could be out of Chesterfield and Halifax hands by Saturday.
If Eastleigh win tonight they'll still have to win on Saturday though right, or have I got that badly wrong?

Ignore me, I see what you're saying. Although it's out of our own hands as it is right now to be fair; we need Eastleigh to drop points if we're to squeak in.

Never been to Halifax, huh. Our beautiful town is now the go-to location for British television series, new series of Happy Valley and Gentleman Jack in the pipeline, and also a brand new drama on the radical group The Coiners, from the 1700s also coming up. Don't know much about them, but apparently they were a great live band. :woot:

If Eastleigh win tonight then Chesterfield vs Halifax could become completely irrelevant. If they chose your game and then Eastleigh/Wrexham take early leads, BT would be showing something that was dead. As I said, assuming they had to pick before tonight’s result, Wrexham was the only game on Saturday where you know it can be advertised as ‘they need to win to make the play-offs’.

I see what you're saying Jacob, but the only way our game is a dead rubber is if Eastleigh and Wrexham go like 2 or 3 up early doors and we concede, but that would have been true regardless of what Eastleigh do tonight. Otherwise as far as I'm concerned everything is in play on Saturday until quart to 5. I'm not advocating us being on BT above anyone else, just saying I think they'll be some twists and turns yet on drama Satdee.

If we do sneak in there's better teams than us in the playoffs anyway like so it's a bit moot, but who knows, lottery init

I don’t disagree, I’d expect there to be loads going on and things changing. But just thinking of it from a viewer’s point of viewer, there’s a big danger with your game that it’d end up stuck with the drama being a goal needed somewhere else for either you or Fax, which doesn’t make great viewing.

To be honest, as much as I think BT’s coverage is decent, it’s a shame they’ve not got both on.

I don't completely agree. Regardless of tonight's result. Both teams would be able to both make the play offs and both miss out. Be a little bit harder for us if that was the case but still not impossible.

I can't be the only one on here that thought the natural choice would have been the Halifax v Chesterfield game.

Yeah I don’t see what they don’t have all the games shown somewhere if not at least 2-3 of them, makes no sense to have 1 and the whole league have crap 12.30 kick off, at least make it a 5.30pm game. Given our injuries our game v Wrexham could be over quick if they go 1-0 up early and with us having bugger all to play for.

I assumed they'd have cameras at the key games and go back and forwards personally.

I suppose logistically taking the cameras to Dagenham is a lot easier than schlepping all the way to Halifax.
