West Brom regret to inform me that they have parted ways with Tony Pulis. He is expected to clear his desk and empty his walk-in cap closet this morning.

What do fans of clubs like WBA actually want? Preserving their PL status without any chance of achieving anything else must be as boring as hell.

The more I see of the PL the more I’m convinced those lower leagues is the place to be - The Championship is far and away superior as a competition.

Oh dear your going to kick things off with that last paragraph.

Ironically Pulis is the one you want in if you are battling relegation. Perhaps they should rehire him immediately.

I bet Chris Coleman is a bit annoyed he didn't wait it out a couple of days. This job would have been perfect for him.

Allardyce should hold out for the Everton job, Unsworth will be binned within the next week or two.

This is a good point about the futility of achievement in the face of inevitable death.

Never considered WBA a relegation contender under Pulis, one of my favourites to go down now though*

*unless they hire Allardyce

Be a bit ironic if they got Big Sam to replace him given they are pretty much alike.

I'm guessing West Brom fans want to win more than twice in 21 games...

Yeah this. Pulis is a results man. If he's not getting results, then the obvious is going to happen.

I actually think West Brom have a poor squad. Their strength is in the defence. Evans is a fantastic defender whilst Dawson and McAuley are excellent at the edge of their own box. I've not seen Gibbs play but I imagine he's been solid so far.

The real problem comes beyond that as the creative areas are just not Premier League quality. James McClean, Jay Rodriguez, Matt Phillips, Hal Robson-Kanu etc. Don't get me wrong, they have their days but mostly they're Championship standard. I do think they've got a decent striker in Rondon but he seems to have been out of favour this season and is often isolated anyway.

Barry, Yacob, Krychowiak are all much of a muchness in the centre.

It's a squad that needs overhauling and reinvention and these are often the squads that are at risk of relegation, because there's going to have to be a transition and it could be that the Baggies return to being a yo-yo club for a while.

They've done great to avoid Coleman though. I'm of the firm belief he won't succeed as a club manager. I think more of his success at Wales comes down to national unity, team spirit and a bit of luck. Allardyce won't take over, surely. It's too small a club for Koeman. If they want much the same, they could do worse than looking at Martin O'Neill. Maybe even Michael O'Neill will be tempted. Hard one to call.

At the end of the day, though, who gives a fuck about WBA?

No he isn't. This myth that Sam is only capable of producing hoofball containment teams is so fucking lazy. Sam's also a lot more astute in the transfer market too. Sam is also miles ahead in conditioning practices also.

Agree with this. Cookie has done very well out of Wales. Let's be perfectly honest we should've come top two in that group. He was fortunate to avoid flak.

Pulis will get the Wales job you'd think. Could be a very good appointment. Well if Bale ever gets fit again. TP is good at getting the workmen to do their jobs properly but he never really has any flair players to do the job the other end.
WBA make shit signings. I don't blame Pulis for that really. WBA just dont appear to want to spend money. Signing players that Reading don't deem good enough doesn't really bode well. Rondon is the record signing at a paltry 12mill. The club seems like a retirement home too.
Fucked if I know who would do a better job really. Without spending that is.

Having had a taste of what Pulis' football is like under his protege Ady Pennock a couple of years back, I can understand why Baggies fans have had enough after 3 years of being bored shitless.

I can see why he always sprints off the pitch at the final whistle. I would too if I'd just served up that level of 'entertainment' to a crowd paying through their noses to watch it. Fuck me.

Allardyce would go there.

WBA are one of those sides that when you watch the premiership, you wouldn't really notice if they went down with how they've been of late

Given the closed shop that is the premiership, if upper midtable was the best I could hope for i'd want to be entertained and have a few good results against the top sides.

Apparently Slaven Bilic has turned WBA down and Interim manager Gary Megson has told assistant Ben Garner he wont be needed due to a clash in coaching methods.

And Allardyce apparently going to Everton, not West Brom. The English game is saved!
