Well, both of these teams have scraped through their groups and now they scrape past their last 16 opponents to get 2 games away from the final.

Poland were somewhat fortunate to get past Switzerland, needing penalties to decide the result after they got somewhat dominated in the 2nd half and in ET. Lewandowski has yet to score and has looked a bit of a forlorn figure. Feel they'll need to step their performance up in this game.

Portugal have seen off a tricky Croatia side and I think they look strong bets to make the final. Yes they were underwhelming in the groups, but they have a rock solid defence and just enough of a goal threat to win this one.

So, Portugal to win it? Or can Lewandowski and Poland snatch it? Another slug fest on the cards?

So.... I'm going to this one. At the beginning of the tournament I was expecting this to be Spain v Switzerland or Poland, then it looked like Croatia would be taking Spain's place but ultimately we have Portugal instead.

I think it's a reasonably equal game (which would not have happened had Spain got there and attempted to set the possession record again) and each side has a big star up top who will be expected to turn the game.

You've got to fancy Portugal to start playing well in the end but Poland are no mugs. Looking at extra time and penalties I reckon.

They only beat Northern Ireland and Ukraine by 1 goal each. With the firepower upfront and the team they have, they really should have done won by larger scores and actually won the group on GD I think.

They won 2 games, and drew one against the world champions and finished second on 7 points, 4 points ahead of third place and conceded no goals.

They didn't scrape through, they qualified rather comfortably.

Poland shoud go through given the quality in the side. Portugal are one big massive fraud in this tournament yet to win a game in normal time and still in with a shout of the semis.
Just like the Swiss game, I don't expect a whole lot of goals in this one. 1-1 at best.
