It's official, and you heard it here first on 26 November 2021 – Ralf Ragnick has signed as the interim manager for Manchester United after weeks of negotiations. The move comes after weeks of talks between Ralf and United, who were eager to sign the fierce manager who struggled to release himself from Lokomotiv Moscow.

It's a move most people expected to happen and one that was pushed for by United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward. Let's explore what this means for the club and the rest of the league.

The Signing

There have been talks of the signing happening for months, but in the last few weeks, the talks really got underway after he was finally released from his current contract. He's been drafted in to help improve the performance of the club this season - United is, without a doubt having the worst season they've had for years.

He's signed a six-month contract that should help Manchester move up the league and back to where they belong, although many believe his time at the club will extend far beyond that.

What It Means For The Club

It's an exciting time for the club that is aren't doing that well so far, considering they are Manchester United, and Premier League tickets to see them under Ragnick may be just what people want as the German will bring intensity to team’s performances.

What it should bring is a fresh direction for the team and players. It's a direction many thought the club was already heading in with the signing of Ronaldo – but for some reason, they haven't been able to put it together this year. It doesn't help that Liverpool have some strong players who seem to be at the top of their game this year, with Mo Salah already scoring 11 goals this season.

It could also mean that Manchester United are able to sign Erling Haaland - a player Liverpool have had their eyes on for months now. Although it's understood Ragnick will only have a say in the player's performance, not in any transfers this coming transfer window.

What It Means For The Rest Of The League

According to Jurgen Klopp — Liverpool's infamous manager — it means the rest of the league should panic. Liverpool and United are bitter rivals, and Klopp smells trouble for his team and the rest of the league, commenting that Ragnick brings with him his talent, experience, and a uniformed approach that should help keep United organised on the pitch. His German prowess won't go unnoticed in the Premier League.

The interim signing of Ralf couldn't have come at a better time. The fans and players alike may not welcome the signing of the new manager at first - but he's come for a reason, and that's to try and improve United's diabolical performance so far this season. He should join the club in the New Year and should make an impact from the beginning – using his experience and skill to take the club to the top.
