Fulham met Cardiff City at Craven Cottage on the fifth week of the Sky Bet Championship 2014/15 season and after a terrible start to the season,Fulham started off like a steam train and piled the pressure on Cardiff City straight from the kick off.Chances game thick and fast for the Cottagers and Parker tried to test Marshall early on with the strike going just wide. The chances kept on coming and McCormack's fierce shot just went past Marshall's far post much to the delight of the Cardiff keeper.Cardiff failed to get into the game as Fabio got Cardiff's first chance of the game which he shot wide, but the Cardiff fans were in fine voice roaring the Bluebirds on as the Fulham fans quietly watched on.David for Fulham proved a threat to the Cardiff backline with his trickery winning a couple of free kicks. One which whom led to a Corner.Corner got swung into the box, cleared out by the Cardiff defence falling to McCormacks feet. Then,a delightful cross fell onto the head of Hoogland,Fulham's top scorer and he put bottom of the table Fulham 1-0 up.Cardiff still failed to get into the game and Jones tried to test the Fulham keeper but he also saw his shot fall wide of the left hand post.Fulham has a handful of chances to make it 2-0,but wasted them and with Cardiff's quality in the striking department, they always looked like the could get back into the game.
The second half started and Fulham started where they left off in the first, creating chances but wasting them. Then Cardiff suddenly looked more aggressive in the final third and a chipped ball from Whittingham found Kenwyne Jones who noded it down for Daehli and his composed pass back to the Jones put him through one on one and he didn't disappoint with a low drive under the keepers leg which drew Cardiff level,1-1.Cardiff fans got their voices back and were very loud in the far corner of the ground.Cardiff then grew into the game more and had chances of their own but Fulham were also still creating. Then in the last ten minutes of the game,Cardiff looked the more likely to nick the winner.Morrison headed just over in the dying seconds of the game and that was that.
Fulham got there first point of the 2014/15 season and Cardiff dropped to 9th.Fulham have 1 point from 5 games and Cardiff have 9 from 5.On yesterday's performance,Fulham won't go down but i don't think they'll reach the top 6 either.Their lack of championship quality and experience may stop them from progressing in the long run.Cardiff on the other hand I think will be in the top 6 whether it be Automatic or Play-Offs.They have the squad, but i'm not too sure if they have the manager.Time will tell.
