No thread for this weekend? Not that I can see anyway.

Sunderland for us. Unfortunately, as it’s not a play-off final I don’t think we’ll win.

We’re still in bit of a mess squad wise, thankfully have 2 weeks between today and our next game to sort ourselves out. All about damage limitation today.

Oxford away, tough game and I’d take a point now.

Away at Blackpool for us.

Missing Morton, Melbourne and Walsh (compassionate leave) but they've hardly featured this season anyway.

They seem to have had a slow start but they look a decent side on paper and you'd expect them to improve as the season gets going and be one of the sides fighting for the PO's. Hopefully we can continue to be as ruthless in the final third as we have been in the opening games.

I’ve heard we have a load of Covid in the squad as well (I’m fairly certain it’s not a wind up). So we will have a much changed team. Lump on Oxford.

What I fail to comprehend is why, if there were positive test results, why this was only raised circa an hour before kickoff? Unless the results have only just arrived (which could be coincidental) but to travel and then cite a problem feels... Odd.

Right I have got the full story now. Ignore the Oxford fans on twitter.

Wintle has been self isolating since Wednesday as he was showing symptoms. His test result came back I believe this morning, and was positive. He hasn’t travelled down to Oxford, he has been at home since Wednesday.

All our squad had a routine test on Thursday (Crewe pay for weekly tests) and Beckles result came back this morning as positive. Beckles has been a symptomatic, so he travelled down with the squad on Friday as normal, and stayed over in the hotel. As soon as he got his result he immediately went home.

Nobody else who travelled has tested positive, and nobody is showing symptoms. However, somebody obviously could have caught it off Beckles in the last 24 hours, which is why the EFL have called it off.

Lost today due to missing a host of chances, Wigan are workmanlike not a bad side but not going to thrill anyone, hopefully we will learn from today

Take a point and clean sheet all day long. Our line-up was all over the place. 2 weeks now to bring players in and start our season properly.

Firstly, I hope all have a swift recovery.

However, Crewe should have informed the EFL and Oxford when they got the positive result first thing this morning. You could argue that it was irresponsible to use the team coach to travel and stay overnight at a hotel, knowing that one of the players had shown symptoms.

Instead, they arrived at the ground, even going into the home dressing rooms, before announcing the positive result.
Your manager even wanted to play on, knowing that some players could have the virus, and could infect Oxford players, and I quote, "to make them weaker for next weeks game".

Played pretty poor today, but stayed in the game and got a stoppage time equaliser.

Shrewsbury goal shouldn't have stood due to a foul in the lead up to the corner, but we defended it so poorly.

Take a point away from home all day long, unbeaten away from priestfield since november long may it continue

Excellent win at Blackpool to maintain our 100% start.

Just over a year since we went there in Appleton's first game in charge and a massive change in personnel and performance.

Well you’re just mis-quoting and making shit up now.

Would be a cracking tactic though.

As much as I wish it were a national scandal and a police matter, the faux outrage on Twitter is amazing.

Two shots on target in 180 minutes now, so not exactly firing on all cylinders for the derby next week.

Very poor performance from Fleetwood in the 1st half, we just cant defend and I was grateful we only went into the interval one down. 2 second half subs improved things considerably and after Saunders scored a fine equaliser I expected us to go on and win the game. Cairns was ( almost ) MOM until he pushed a shot into the feet of Tavares who gleefully scored.
Rochdale will be pleased with this result, they pushed us hard especially in the first half and are more than a useful side, as for the Cod Army, joint 2nd from the bottom but we have a relatively easy game next Friday -Hull City at home !!!

Game of 2 halves at London Road. Should have been out of sight at half time but folded like a cheap suit in the second and posh were too strong. Jack Payne was excellent again and scored a good goal.

Our defence is a concern but I’m confident of a mid-table season which suits. Sort us out at the back and we may just trouble the play-offs.

The Crewe manager wanted to play on, they shouldn't even had turned up at the ground.
I doubt he would even have mentioned the positive test had Oxford not already found out.

You’re still just making shit up. You’d be closer to the mark saying Artell read a chapter of Harry Potter in that interview.

He’s at a BBQ today Masi but I’m sure he’ll be around later. I’m guessing Bolton must have won today?

Marcus Harness did a number on his old side today, check out his second and third goals today if you can, they're sublime.

The defence is still extremely worrying, though. Conceded two comical goals today against a Burton side I'm sure will finish in the bottom four this season. They don't seem to have much about them and are far too easy to play against.

Good to get that first win but not getting carried away.

You seem to struggle with simple facts.

You had a player who tested positive on the morning of the match, who had travelled down with the squad and stayed overnight.
Most sensible people, being in contact with such a person would have self isolated and got a test as soon as possible. Not carry on as normal expecting to complete a football match.

Football is really not that important in these times.

He’s not debating that (although he may disagree with you). He’s saying you mis quoted Artell. Which you did. Artell actually said he agreed with the PP because we could have infected your team and made them weaker. And your weirdo fans have turned that quote into “i wish we had infected the whole of Oxfordshire”
