Last chance saloon for us. Got to beat MK or it's close to over I reckon. Already nervous.
I just want the season to be over, so we know our fate...to bring an end to two dreadful years at our club...hopefully we can arrest the slide next season.

I’m sure I reflect the sentiments of the forum as a whole when I wish a hearty pob lwc to our friends from Cymru, Casnewydd/Newport and Wrecsam/Wrexham for their respective games on Saturday. Cymru am byth!

It’d be a genuine shame to see sutton go down if you did, you’ve won me over.

Not a fan at the start (mainly as we couldn’t beat you) but you’ve proven a proper unfashionable club can do it, and would be great if you got over the line - especially over an irrelevant non descript club like colchester.

Couldn't give a fuck about them to be honest. Don't know what they've done to have won people over? They've done well but they're just a Non league London/Greater London side who've done well to come up and hang around for a bit. Another Aldershot, Dagenham, Barnet and set the trend for a Bromley, Woking in the future. Boring ground, shit long ball football like most London teams.

I don't dislike them, just wouldn't miss them. Hopefully we smash them on Saturday.

Agree with Barnet & Dagenham. But in my lifetime although under a different guise Aldershot have nearly always been a FL club. We had great games against them in the 73/74 season.

Any London or there abouts away game for me is a bonus, especially as the other one in the league is usually a massive farce for us.

I really hope Sutton stay up too, I just have a bad feeling we’ll both need something from the final game

Sutton's ground is many things but certainly not boring.
It's a boring non league shit hole. It's fun to go to once now and again or rock up to for a 1st or 2nd round FA Cup tie but that's about it.

I wonder if they'll stick their artificial pitch back down if they go down. They're just Bromley in another part of South London. Don't understand why everyone wants them to stay up. Them and FGR down would be fine.

That Matt Gray did a great job there, to win them the league in that Covid season and keep them up comfortably for two years, took them to an EFL Trophy final too. They fucked him off too early this season IMO. He got dumped after we beat them 8-0, it was just a freak scoreline that. Ungrateful really. If the new man keeps them up they'll feel vindicated but I reckon Gray could have done the same. They still look pretty much the same outfit, land of the giants, hoof it up etc. It'll be a tough game for us there on Saturday.

I'd you really think the beautifully names Gander Green Lane is boring, what do you make of the likes of the JobServe community stadium at Colchester, or Northampton and Chester? Are those identikit characterless stadium more exciting to you because they have a lot more seats?

Bromley's stadium has far more character than the 3 I mentioned above which to me are as dull as dishwater.

Sutton's ground is undoubtedly shit but certainly not dull in my eyes.

Yes i had a little road trip in the pie and peas league way back when the country was in lock-down. It is nice to return once in a while to see the same happy faces repeating what they were saying in 2020.
Way back then Bolton was going out of the league and we would be going out of business very soon [that never quite worked out] Tranmere had visions of reaching the premier league in the next five years backed by there owners who owned the worlds oil stocks. Swindon fans had moved up to league 1 and spent most of there one season there slagging Doyle and Bolton for having no Ambition. Bradford had 16k season tickets and appointed Mark Hughes who was the next coming and they not Bolton was the leagues biggest team. Exeter had the best academy in Europe and would be the next Brighton/Bouremouth/Brentford/Luton
Mansfield appointed the best manager outside the Premier league and signed 50 players pre season but sacked the groundsman. Evatt fucked up and Barrow was a club on the up and Bolton was on the way down.

Ohhh how i miss those days with my Friends

Excuse me, we only wanted to move a club 50 miles not 5,000
Very true and you get bonus points for actually being a English club based in England

On a side note how has MJ Williams done for you this season?

Alright. He's been filling in at centre back for most of the season and I'm not too convinced by him there, but he's been a decent signing

Does ok at centre half but wasted there......Needs to be in front of a back four. Only reason Evatt got shut was he went with two wing backs and as good as Williams was at breaking up play he is no Josh Sheehan . Who takes the ball from our keeper and dictates the play.

Who can be arsed? 4-4 this week maybe.

We have one thing to play for now and it’s to set a surely never-to-be-matched record of both scoring and conceding the most goals in the entire football league.

That 5-5 must have been really traumatic for the players - we’ve both been mostly a pile of shite since…
