Hi all, tomorrow I am taking the missus to Sheffield City Hall to see Kevin Bridges, and was wondering if anybody can recommend anywhere decent to eat beforehand?
Went to have a look on trip advisor and apparently there are 1184, so sod looking through that lot!
Would appreciate any advice, cheers.

The city center has lots of samey restaurants and slightly up-market chains so not great value for money. Personally I'd recommend heading down London Road, plenty of different cuisines to choose from and most are good and well priced. Ecclesall Road is also good but more expensive. Avoid the new all-you-can-eat buffet that has opened near to the city hall...they serve a sushi of seaweed wrapped around rice and hotdog sausage (just to emphasize their shitness).

Alternatively there's Silversmiths which is just on the edge of the center but will probably be busy, I'd ring ahead if you chose there. Or if really good home-cooked pies and peas are your thing then look no further than The Broadfield pub, it is a wee bit further out but not ages away.

Go to the hen and chickens or the tap and barrell they serve up a wonderful menu in either of those.

Thanks guys, appreciate it cheers.
Although going for a meal is dependant on having some money left after letting my wife loose in Meadowhall in the afternoon........!

God I hate that place. Meadowhell I mean, not Sheffield, though the Lanes are always fun.

Broadfield pub is excellent. Some really nice real ales in there.

Yeah Sunday in there was pretty horrific to be honest, getting dragged around clothes shop after clothes shop by the missus, rammed in like sardines was not exactly my idea of fun!
She took that long that we ended up just eating in the Wetherspoons in there, although it was really good to be fair.
I felt a bit of a tit parking at Meadowhall, spending over 5 minutes looking round to find the machine where you pay only to find that it was free!
And Kevin Bridges was superb, don't remember ever laughing that much in my life, although £3.40 for a little bottle of beer poured in a plastic glass took the shine off the night lol!
