After a defeat at Reading on Saturday it's important we bounce back with 3 points here, especially considering the overreaction of some fans as usual. Won't be easy though Barnsley are having a very good season and have proven they can beat anyone on their day, we do tend to beat them at Hillsborough though. Expect Fletcher to start in place of Nuhiu, and maybe Jones into the midfield.

Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 Barnsley

Looks like the usual. Better chances, better football, concede a hilariously unfortunate goal, rinse, repeat.

I'd be laughing my arse off if I were a Wednesday fan. They could literally not turn up and we'd still contrive to lose.

Good performance, but crap finishing = crap result. If we play as well as we sounded we'll get something at Cardiff on Saturday. I'm sure Wednesday will play ten times better than that and lose this season. But tonight was never going to go any other way.

The Wednesday
Barnsley had some excellent passages of play and some excellent delivery however they were helped by a referee intent on giving them everything.

The block by Westwood at 0-0 was key, a sloppy goal from both points of view and that was it IMHO, as Jamo and Craig will testify they never beat us despite being better on occasions.

Two nil flattered us, the red was contentious as we thought Sammy was going off and given his reputation it's hard to believe he wasn't but viewing it back the Hammill tackle was bad.

On to defeat against Rotherham.

Was impressed with Barnsley tonight they play some really good stuff, although we did make it easy for them at times, a good young hungry team there that will only get better if they stay together. We've been on the end of defeats after missing countless chances so it's nice to have the boot on the other foot, we never got going tonight it was actually really frustrating to watch. Hutchinson and Westwood were immense, shit myself when it went up on scoreboard he'd been sent off. Quite happily take the 3 points though and surely this time we have to beat Rotherham at Hillsborough on Saturday!

I'm always disappointed to lose and would obviously loved to have gotten one over on this lot but I find it hard to be too downbeat as losing here is as sure as night and day.
