Ten days ago, I wouldn't have fancied us at all for this. After the last two results though, one a clean sheet and the other coming back from one down, there's a bit of light showing. Two goals from a debutant who looks very impressive and a sharp pacy winger either side for the first time in yonks, good central defence partnership and a bit more grit in midfield gives me hope.

With Madron up front and the possibility of the Rakster partnering him from the off or later in the game, I think we'll be OK. Even if we start with Fat Billy or Scott Fenwick, we'll still be able to cause problems now we can actually get the ball forward, even if it's not as often as I'd like.

Still a big task though, I'll go 2-2.

No idea how this game will go. Mansfield have a poor home record, which would suggest they get caught out against teams playing on the counter attack, which will suit us. I expect us to line up in the same shape and style as Sunday, but with Bingham in for Fenwick. Lots of pace going forward, so I wouldn't rule out another win. We could just as easily create absolutely nothing again though, and lose 1-0 without ever even remotely threatening.

Hartlepool fans are getting confident again.

Next thing you know we'll be hearing that "Who's the best manager in the football league?" song again.

Fancy a result on Saturday. The return of Magney, signings off Grey &'Naismith have made a big difference.
And I've noticed that Mansfields home form is even worse than ours!

As long as you produce this kind of breathtaking form when you roll up at Salford.

Well, we did at home against Newport......:cool1:

I think we know that the London/Manchester centric BBC will be slavering for a home win and that Salford will try and boot us off the pitch but we've got a few hard cases of our own now. Depends which way the ref bends on that one I suppose.

Just put a bit of effort in and you win the game, exactly the opposite of what Notts county did. Hartlepool have better players, so if they match Salford's effort they win.

Ronnie keeps trying for a 0-0 away from home, perhaps he may get lucky this time

Recalling the chew on here last season. Think it was Adam Stag (?) who had the most to say. Bet he's been chucking darts into his Poolie voodoo doll all week.

As for the game, imagine it'll be a home win although we are a little better away than at home. Don't expect much football from us though. In fact, hope Bingham plays. His movement and pace add more than anything Fenwick offers really.

No, all the Mansfield forwards have been throwing darts at the Hartlepool voodoo doll.

They all missed

Sounds like Hartlepool will come and play for the point. Teams who have done that so far have usually got away with all 3.

If we create another 20 chances and fail to score then something has to be changed. Green whilst I think has been doing the right things he's just not had any luck, Same again last night but he looked a troubled footballer at parts. I can't wait for the goal to come as I think you'll see the relief in his celebration. Also the fans were great in singing his name for the next 10 minutes after a miss. Think he appreciated that.

This could go either way, Either it's going to be a frustrating afternoon or we could turn up and win this 2/3-0. Don't think Shearer did much wrong last night but I hope Jenson is back in goal on Saturday.

What are the Poolie's wingers like?

Naismith we have only seen once. Set the third goal up on Sunday. Looked impressive from that performance. If Kudus starts, even he doesn't know what he is going to do with the ball when he gets it, so will either run into your defender, or knock it past him and run. Oates will cause problems if he starts and is given the ball, which I am sure he will see more of with Mandron upfront.

Thought your returning hero Green was going to take the league by storm?
Doing the right things as said above however he is not putting it in the back of the net. He was like this in the 12-13 season too and found his form again. He'll come good.

I'm glad you've asked that,... I'll sit back and wait for one of our own to dismantle Matt's current form in a far obvious manner than I could; as I just think that his confidence is low.

He needs a game when things go for him. Are you Poolies up for lending a hand?

Well teams who haven't won & strikers who haven't scored for a while seem to put it right against us.

That's only the inherent gloomy naysaying nature of Mansfield Town Football Club and Mansfield as a community kicking in.

If we ain't miserable we ain't happy. If that makes sense. We'd sooner keep our heads down kicking our heels in our despondency than look upwards for a possible crack of blue sky amongst the blanket grey clouds. We get spoonfed it from an early age.

If Charlie Brown lived in a UK town, it'd be ours.

We've discussed the issues with Murray playing only 1 upfront and it doesn't work. It shows in the goals scored column and it shows in the home win record Murray has. For someone as (justifiably) well liked as adam, it is a concern that he doesn't seem interested in altering his style. All play this season is a dream in comparison to last, and fans must also remember our unexpectedly lofty position in the league to date - but adam needs to understand that just now the 451 or 4411 variations of his play aren't baring fruit

As above, fans should think it could be a good season when we've neither won, or scored in 5 games yet remained in the playoffs. Had someone said that in pre-season you'd have been laughed out of town.

I do believe the season could take a decisive twist in the next week - home games against Hartlepool and Exeter should "should" be returning a minimum of 4 points, should it return no wins and no goals, the pattern of the season may follow that of 2 seasons ago.

For me, I beg that he starts with green and yousif together - I understand others might not agree, but this 2 together could be lethal

Although it's annoying, a lot of teams have adopted this 4231 formation, it's the "in" formation at the moment however to play this we need Green firing with others chipping in which isn't happening at the moment.
