Ok so for the first time since 2014 I have the latest football manager edition... & much like years gone by I'm a bit obsesive with the editor more so than the actual game.
As always my first port of call is to make an Enlgand to Level 9 (Step 5) database... now, if someone could be so kind as to explain to me how the holy hell promotion works between Step 2/3 & between Step 3/4? I support a Step 3 team & I don't even know!
National League North/South is 6 relegation spots.
I know all 4 champions of Step 3 get promoted, but how does the insane play off system work to generate the further 2 teams from 4 leagues to be promoted?
Likewise each Step 3 league relegates 3 teams for a total of 12 but there are now 7 leagues at Step 4... so 7 champions & I assume another bat shit crazy play off system to get 5 more promoted teams?
At least for the first time ever Step 4/5 is a simple 14 up, 14 down process... swings & roundabouts I guess...
