Very good 1st half in which we could have scored more..

Held on in the 2nd once Defoe came on..

Gomes made a couple of decent saves.

Ighalo should have had a hat trick today. That's not to say they were all over Sunderland but when the black cats were pushing for that equaliser which they were very unfortunate not to get, Watford broke on them several times and two of those Ighalo had straight runs to goal, but he's not particularly quick as it goes and was caught up with on both occasions. Had a decent few efforts in the first half too.
Defoe might have played his way into a start as well. Sunderland were miles better with him on the pitch.
