Supporters teams

Not really sure where to put this so I've dumped it here...

Do any of your clubs still have a Fans team? You know that players other fans side on a Saturday morning? I ask because I've just been given some old reports and things someone used to do of all our FTYBR's games. Was interested as I know about 10 or so people who have played for them in the past.

It's a shame if it's a dying thing this as it looks really fun, but that said with how much it costs to hire a pitch out these days and travelling the country for a game and then to go watch your own side lose is a costly thing!

I played one match for the Aberystwyth Town supporters team at Newtown in my final year. We played on a park pitch right by the ground and lost 3-0. As far as I'm aware, the team are still going.

Ours started in 92/93 and played pretty much every year until 2008/09.

I'd love to drum up the interest and get it started again but if there isn't many clubs who still have one it's quite pointless.

Might be an idea to get something like this going through the summer months in regional leagues, I'd love to have played for our supporters team, don't think they've had a game in a while though.
