Whitehawk win the Sussex Senior Cup with victory over Lewes- and this is almost a match report...

But I wondered what everyone's view is on County Cup competitions? I tend to watch lower level non league sides in Sussex- Conf South downwards- and their fans tend to view the competition as important. Is it the same across the country, and do professional sides tend to treat them with disdain?

I'd be interested in your views, as I might just write an article about it.

We just field the kids so haven't win the Hearts Cup for 11 years.

I guess it depends if you want to try and give fringe 1st teamers a game and confidence boost of winning or just not bother at all.

I understand that it isn't a priority for professional clubs, but do you think that sometimes their obvious disdain for the county cup is a little disrespectful to those non league sides who take it seriously?

I think it does a bit but then clubs don't take the League Cup seriously now.
