Didn't see an FA cup thread like the one we had before so thought I'd throw one together. Our teams in action this weekend:

Saturday 25th Jan

Blackburn Rovers vs Swansea City
Birmingham City vs West Brom
Cardiff City vs Reading
Derby County vs Chesterfield
Man City vs Middlesborough
Sunderland vs Fulham
Liverpool vs Bolton

Sunday 26th Jan

Aston Villa vs Bournemouth
Brighton vs Arsenal

Sorry if I've missed anyone off. Some tough ties there, only ourseves and Cardiff to not be playing Premier League opposition.

And Reading (against Cardiff)

Two draws, both Championship clubs away. Couldn't get any worse.

Cardiff only expecting an attendance of about 8000 for Saturday, 2000 away fans.

Ah, apologies. I did acknowledge you as one of us by bolding you out in the fixtures but obviously missed you at the end.

And yes, FA Cup all Championship fixtures are extremely dull normally. A good chance to progress nonetheless.

Yeah it's always dull playing against someone from the same league though it does give us a decent chance of getting through.Got a feeling we will draw and end up with a replay.

Oh yeah, another competition we just refused to compete in.

Wouldn't be surprised to see both Birmingham and Bournemouth come away something, possibly Blackburn too.

I'v stuck a few quid on Bournemouth to beat Aston Villa. Also think Middlesbrough can get a draw at Man City and Bristol City to turn West Ham over.

Yeah, I think I might get involved in the double chance bets this weekend.

Don't fancy Boro much to be honest though, I think City had their scare in the last round.

I think Hughton's done alright against Arsenal in the past, but I fear a drubbing on Sunday if they get their noses in front early. The prospect of pretty much any of their forward line running at Gordon Greer terrifies me.

Blues and Albion virtually a sell out, Albion given the whole of the GML which is just under 5000 iirc.

The Baggies have had to apologise to their supporters after being caught out with the massive demand...

Ticket staff have said they had not experienced anything like this since the Wembley games in 2007 and 2008.

We are their cup final, official.

To leave their shanty surroundings for the Second City, it's a day out for 'em. They'll be falling over themselves marvelling at their 'massive' support, and I'm half-expecting a 'yam support is fucking shit!' of them before the match even starts.

We'll probably be making 8-9 changes for this one so couldn't tell you which way it will go- Can see there being only one goal in it- a huge away following coming up from Bournemouth should generate some noise in the away end- hopefully Villa fans will get on their teams back if they have a poor start

McClaren has said we won't be making wholesale changes as we've done in previous cup games, but I do expect debuts for Albentosa and Warnock. And I hope Hughes will be rested given the injury he picked up last week.

I imagine you and the 6 fingered ones from Sandwell town will sing a few nasty songs about us, it's cute to know you'll be thinking of Wolves on your big day :fish:

Maybe first time years St Andrex will be full?

I have gone off West Brom a bit now, they remind me of a more diluted version of Villa these days.

I bet you'll be listening intently on BBC WM.

Good win today. We weren't exactly brilliant, but used it to try out a couple of different systems as we need that 'Plan B'.

Very impressed with Chesterfield. Kinda glad Bent and Russell missed those three chances, as it would have been very harsh on them.

Some ridiculous results in the Cup today, with Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham, and Southampton all out.

Bournemouth will knock another Prem team out tomorrow. They'll wipe the floor with that woeful Villa side.

A pretty good day for our teams in this competition. Some big wins.

We were very hit and miss, tried a few formations out and gave full home debuts to a couple of new lads in Albentosa and Bent. It would have been 5-3 if all the clear cut goalscoring chances were converted but I think that's the main reason we're through to the next round, we were a tad more clinical infront of goal than town who had a lot of opportunities.
Nice to see Bent get a goal, keeps up his crazy full debut record. He'll be an asset between now and May I feel, although he should have finished his two one vs one situations and walked off the pitch with a hattrick and the match ball.

Chesterfield are a good team and on that performance wouldn't look out of place in this division. Some nice football played at a good tempo, shame their finishing wasn't on point as their fans deserved to celebrate a goal.
Good turn out from both sets of fans, decent atmosphere too. It made for a pretty good cup tie IMO.

I fancy Villa will win today, they never follow the script the wankers. Every pundit & his dog predicting a Bournemouth win, put yer money on a Villa win, 2-0.

Fairly certain we are not heading to league 1.The performances in the last few games have been decent. A cup run wont do any harm either.

'Yippee aye ey, yippee aye ohhh...'

Is that all what Villa ever chant these days?

Possibly the cringiest chant in English football, ever.

Seems you were right. 2-0 to Villa, with just under 20 minutes to go.

Different sort of game to last time, though, which was a more even contest that they nicked at the death. Still, 2-3, no disgrace in the end after fearing the worst at 2-0 down when they were running all over us. Second half much improved, just wish we weren't so sluggish to begin with. Rohan Ince, along with our strikers actually starting to score goals, the main positives.

The ressies gave Villa a good game, we were the better team first half, but Gil scored an absolute screamer (Seriously watch it tonight if you haven't seen it yet). We then had no answer really and Villa are used to absorbing pressure and they did this really well.

A tad disappointed, and again wondering if our 'first' team could have done the job, but our first team ave lost 2 of the last 3 anyway so many of the changes were arguably deserved. Either way we were never going to win the cup; we need to make sure we get back to winning ways against Watford in a game that I really don't think we'll get much out of.

It was purely tongue in cheek.

FA Cup > Alex Pearce leading us to the Premier League, again.
