Anyone watched this yet? First episode was decent. The start was a bit silly and the audience participation was forgettable (partly due to the audience being shouty Americans) but the car parts were good and pretty much as expected. But with better production. A few swear words too, which we would never have had with the BBC.

Despite claims to the contrary over the last few months, that first episode was very much a Top Gear roadtrip. The feel of it was the same, which was inevitable to an extent. The only thing missing really was the Star In The Reasonably Priced Car, which was always the worst part and I skipped it 90% of the time anyway unless there was someone on who I was really interested in listening to. It was certainly an improvement on what the old Top Gear had become, whether that stays the same remains to be seen.

Looking forward to the other 11.

I'm sure knowing the trio it will get wackier as the series goes on, I love how in this series they are pretty much free to do whatever they want which is brilliant.

That opening sequence was great, best thing they've done in a long time. The chemistry the 3 of them have is gold so I'm sure this will be a huge success if that first one was anything to go by.

Just finished watching this and I think it's going to be a brilliant series, even the new 'Eboladrome' track looks good.

That was a really enjoyable watch. Great camera work as well and the stuff while in the studio was a really good watch as well. Bring on teh rest of the series.

I thought the car stuff was its usual, decent self but there were some equally cringey moments - the stage bit the at the start, the annoying audience, the American driving around their new track and the celebrities 'dying' were all a bit forced.

The bit where he hit the floor made me laugh more than it should. The other two after were a bit shit.

I've just finished watching episode two of the new series and really wish I hadn't bothered, apart from a couple of reviews about ridiculously priced cars - the Aston Martin at £1,8 million wasn't even road legal - it was basically almost 50 minutes of the 3 amigos playing soldiers and firing weapons - along with insulting the South African president (Jacob Zuma) over his accounting skills, the only upside is that I don't pay to watch this programme.

I enjoyed the first episode a lot - the second was fucking cack. The tediously long army section, the fucking atrociously unfunny 'conversation street' segment, recycled jokes from the first episode and too much of it falls flat, notably the American Stig replacement fella.

I haven't watched the second but isn't that what you sign up for when watching Top Gear? Forced "banter", casual(ish) racism, blowing things up and super cars...?

How soon till they start destroying caravans do you think?

Enjoyed the Aston bit but the rest was fucking painful. Looks like they're settling into old habits. Another out today, will check it out later, hopefully an improvement.

I watched the latest episode yesterday and it wasn't too bad, a vast improvement on E2 which was ridiculous - even for them - they seemed more relaxed this time being filmed up in Whitby.

Saw the first episode last night and quite enjoyed it, good to see them back (even Hammond, btw how much bloody make-up was he wearing in that studio!). Apparently the next episode isn't as good according to you guys, so I'll probably be fast-forwarding through a chunk of it, but I'll check it out tonight after the footy.

So episodes 2 & 3 weren't that great tbh, with both main events of the show outstaying their welcome by some distance; however episode 4 was an absolute belter, and I thought it was hilarious.

Was episode 4 the environmental one? If so I loved that one.

Hate the celebrity dying bit. The worst bit about that is that James always says "so they arent coming on then". That is the most annoying bit about the scenes.

Yeah it was the environmental one. The celebs dying stuff is getting a bit drawn out now but I don't mind James saying that tbh when his timing is on it. Hopefully it'll just be for this series then they'll stop it.

Episode 7 - the Namibian adventure (part 1) is brilliant, it's all filmed on location in Namibia, no studio/tent audience, just back to top gear basics crossing a desert in 3 modified beach buggies.

Found it too scripted and fairly dull overall tbh. Not one of their best.

Agree with that. Though, I kind of wish they let Hammond try the vans out a bit more before getting blown up.I feel like they could have made the sporty off road car into a challenge and let them all make one.

Episode 11 was good, more like the old top gear, Salty might enjoy it too as it's filmed in Scotland.

Another episode shot up here, good stuff. You cannot beat a Range Rover if you want an SUV/Off-Roader, though you do pay for it.

The final episode (13) of series one which was fimed in Dubai is quite good, although hopefully they will drop the dead celebrity segment from the next series.
