Great to see Paul Cook keeping up the good work at Portman Road, following perfectly in the steps of Lambert.

To be fair it was only started because you'd won league two in pre-season when you were creaming your pants at signings we all knew where shite.

I remember when the table was not produced till about 4-5 games in, so this is probably too early. By October it will start to take some shape until then you can go from 12th to 2nd and back again in the blink of an eye.
We are second but I can’t see us staying there although I do see us as a top 10 team as we still have both main strikers to come back yet.
What will probably screw us over is jfh Will probably get poached at some point by a struggling championship team maybe after Christmas.

It was three games in before the league table was shown back when I was a lad. Obviously this was pre-internet. In fact it was pre-punk rock I'm so old.

I’m very sure Ipswich will be there or there abouts come the business end of the season, threads like these at this stage of the season are just a bit of fun, which is obvious to everyone except a certain fan of a greater Manchester club with an inferiority complex.

We could do with a win sooner or later, no doubt about it. Happy to reserve judgement for 10-15 though.

Interesting stats below. We must defend better. I'm not concerned about the goals coming.

with a average or even a couple of points picked up start to the season yes we would have pissed the league.
Just think Ipswich and Charlton will be nearer the top than the bottom

Ipswich were fine on Tuesday until we scored. Once we did their confidence just went completely.

If Cook can sort that out, they'll be right up there. About 25 mins in I was fearing a 4/5-0 battering.

Unfortunately thats generally Cook's side in a nutshell. Tons of possession, not too difficult to defend aganist if you sit deep. We saw it tons at Fratton Park. Think we ended up drawing about 10-12 games in a one season 0-0

Don't think there we too many matches that we had less than 60% possession. For the first season it was very labered passing for passing sake. Cook had Matt Tubbs, Michael Smith, Eion Doyle, Conor Chaplin, Jayden Stockley, but couldn't get a tune out of any of them as a front man particulary. Ended up playing Kal Naismith as a false 9 which coincided with us doing well and being slighlty more direct. We did however have a team that included Enda Stevens, Matt Clarke, Adam Webster, Christian Burgess, Gary Roberts, Gareth Evans, Kyle Bennett, Naismith, and Michael Doyle.

Do you consider Martin a snake?

He's gone to a club in a higher division, who were one game away from the Premier League last season. I'd say it's a logical step up.

Had he gone to another League One club for the money I'd get it.

To be fair, we had even better stats last season...We finished 13th. This season with the Snake Martin gone, we appear to be playing with a bit more purpose, and that's with Liam Manning only being in control for one and a bit games. Should be a good match Saturday, will be intersting to see how Fraser gets on against us, we've now got number 9 Scott Twine... He looks a very capable replacement and we've got two very good players in front of him.

Hopefully Jimmy stays this time, he is doing a terrific job at your place. Tbh we lost against you on Tuesday only because of our finishing as i thought we were slightly the better team (best we have played despite the result) but the game was great to watch and you also played very well. I like the look of that lad Jonny Smith who scored a good goal and was very lively.
Jimmy has you playing well as a unit and hard to beat. Keep it up and you will be right up there, his record since taking back over is fantastic.

Your poor start is down to me, for the first 3 league games i had you on my banker coupon, on said coupon ipswich have been the only team to knock me. Plus i backed you to win the league. I’ve predicted the wrong team to win this league now for years and if you lot keep this up then you will be added to my list of failures. Apologies to Oxford as i picked them last season and i backed my own club Sunderland the season prior. Shall i avoid backing you this Saturday? Personally i think MK is tough opposition but winnable for you still.

The difference beteeen Ipswich and yourselves on Tuesday was immense. You kept coming at us and on another day would have scored 3/4. I have no doubt you will be top 4 based on that performance.

To be fair, it's the way he went about it. Told the club and fanbase he hadn't been approached, hadn't spoken to them etc, etc, wasn't going anywhere and had turned them down twice. Turns out he'd been down to them on the Wednesday.

I get going to a bigger club, it's the way of the world, but he lied about it, so yep, a snake.

Thought I’d add to this! The first win will come. Individual errors have killed us. Could easily argue a case for us to have won our first four (and probably lost too). As frustrating as today was it’s nice to see goals. We’ve averaged 40-60 goals a season since I can remember. Pretty sure they’ll be more this year. Cut out the errors and we’ll be fine

It’s not the move that we had a problem with. It was the timing, the comments (lies) he made the day before he left and then again after he joined Swansea, it’s leaving us with literally 1 senior member of staff less than a week before the start of the league season after being furious at teams like Ipswich and Huddersfield for coming in for our players later on in windows. So many little things building up to just send him from revered to despised.

Another late goal. Another game we concede two. No team who concedes that often is going to win many games.

It does however feel like we are so close to turning the corner.

This is without Norwood, Kayden Jackson and Louie Barry. We have build one hell a squad. Time for Cook to deliver now.
