How Easy Was The Ground to Get To (from the station, by car, etc)
Little bit tricky, especially for away fans who don't know the area. It is literally at the top of a hill, so as you can imagine the access roads are pretty poor. There is on site parking, but this is full a hour before kick off every game. You can also park at the local school car parking. Both car parks are £4.00. If (like me) you refuse to pay for parking apart from extreme circumstances, then you might get lucky and get a space in the local housing estates.

If Applicable, How is Parking Near The Ground?

Explained Above.

Based on Where You Were Sat, How Was the View?

Been supporting FGR since 2006(when new stadium opened). There isn't a bad view in the house generally speaking. Every stand is close to the pitch and you get a good unrestricted view. Behind both goals is standing, which again is excellent for viewing angles ect.

If You Ate at The Ground, How Would You Rate the Food?

FGR is very different to every other club in the world. Organic pitch ect. This extends to the food menu, where NO red meat, white meat or fish is on the menu. 100% Vegan club, the food is actually excellent. Makes a change from the usual overpriced food at football games. Definitely worth a try, if you don't like it, you can just get some chips!

How Was The Atmosphere At The Ground, From Both Sets of Supporters? Does the Stadium Hold the Noise?

It's not too dissimilar to most national league games. Not the loudest of stadiums, but has a great atmosphere for local derby's or important games. Acoustics of the ground are excellent aswell.

How Are the Pubs and Local Attractions in The Local Area?

Again, its tough due to the location of the ground. There are pubs at the bottom of the hill, but please note this is a gruelling 20 minute walk back up the hill!

The facilities of the stadium are excellent, it has electric turnstiles, you can use your mobile phone to get into the ground. Tickets can be bought online in advance of the game.

Overall Score Out of 10?

Obviously i'm biased, but i think its a great stadium. Not a bad size for the standard, and most visiting fans have a pleasant experience at FGR

There is a great big hill that you have to go up to get to the ground! It doesn't look the easiest to drive up either. If like me you are not a driver, the best option is to get the train to Stroud and then get the half-hourly 63 bus which will drop you off right outside the ground. Note that after 6:15pm this bus becomes hourly.

It seems that this season away fans will be allocated the uncovered side terrace, which is only half a dozen steps high. It's fine for a sunny summer's day which is when I went to the New Lawn but I can imagine it being inhospitable in winter. Looks like the sort of place where you would need to wrap up extra warm in winter too. The other three sides are covered and the main stand looks fine as it has a cantilever roof with no supporting pillars in the way.

Yeah, everyone knows about the vegan only food at FGR. It does appear that there is a new vegan Indian outlet near the away end, which I sampled and very tasty it was too. So put aside your prejudices and give it a try, I'm sure you won't die if you go without a burger for one match.
How Was The Atmosphere At The Ground, From Both Sets of Supporters? Does the Stadium Hold the Noise?
This was FGR's first ever Football League match so there was excitement in the air. On the other hand, FGR's fans are hardly known for generating a hostile atmosphere. We had a good away support of 500, which made the away side feel quite well filled. I think a fair number of League 2 sides will have no problems filling it. The only problem is that having no roof does make it more difficult to sustain an atmosphere.
How Are the Pubs and Local Attractions in The Local Area?
First of all there is a rather poky away bar in place, which serves Cotswolds Beer and Cider. There isn't anything near the ground but if you make the walk down into Nailsworth town centre there are some very presentable pubs such as the Britannia and various eating options. There are also plenty of eating and drinking options in Stroud. Moreover, the beautiful Cotswolds are well worth an extended stay.
Overall Score Out of 10?
I would give it 8/10. Visiting FGR is a pleasant experience, the reception we got was very friendly and helpful, whatever you think of Dale Vince and his causes FGR has a distinct and unique identity as a club. The only issues for me is that the way to the away side needs to be paved as I can see that getting very muddy in winter. The stadium is a bit non-league but FGR did build it at a time when their main aspiration was to give themselves a firmer footing in the Conference rather than aspire to be a Football League club.
